The internet is divided over a video clip of Jennifer Lopez.
In the video, Jennifer wore a black trench coat and a plaid skirt as she stepped forward and leaned toward a woman believed to be her assistant, who held out her hand to catch the gum Lopez dropped from her mouth. JLo then stepped back into place next to a man wearing a brown jacket as they conversed for a second.
The singer, who wore her honey blonde locks in a poker straight bob, then returned to her original position and stared straight ahead. Someone posted the video on X, formerly known as Twitter, and the internet has been up in arms about the clip.

In the caption, the original poster wrote: “Here’s JLo spitting chewing gum into her assistant’s hand in the middle of New York City. Such rude and nasty behaviour. There is no reason to treat your employees like this.”
Some slammed the star and one person replied: “Like was there no paper to spit it in [crying emoji],” while someone else added: “This is nasty. Ain’t enough money in the world. She couldn’t spit it out behind her or something?”
However, in the comments someone replied to defend the singer and wrote: “They’re filming a movie…this isn’t uncommon.” Another person said: “She’s filming something, that’s what assistants do. Nothing unusual is going on here.”
More people pointed out that the situation occurred on a “movie set” while one post asked “where else was she supposed to spit it [out] while on set”. They defended JLo and said that her assistant “could’ve had a tissue or a napkin” to collect her gum, but instead “used her hand knowing that she was going to gum from someone’s mouth” on it.
Comments continued to divide viewers as people pointed out that she is “obviously filming something” and that the action is “not a big deal”. Someone even joked that Lopez should “sell that piece of gum for 50k and then quit” her job while another commenter said that if someone “dumpster dived” for her gum they might “sell it for 100k”. Daily Star has reached out to Jennifer Lopez’s representative for a comment.
