Naga Munchetty has admitted that she’s had to ditch an outfit after criticism from BBC Breakfast viewers.
The TV presenter, 49, has been on the red sofa on the BBC programme for around a decade but still gets negative comments from some of the people tuning in. And she shared that on a couple of occasions it has been her clothes that have triggered remarks.
Naga opened up about it on Room 101 with Paul Merton as she discussed her pet peeves. Talking about getting unsolicited advice from people, she said that as a rule she doesn’t pay attention to complaints about her wardrobe, insisting: “I ignore them!”

But she said there have been a couple of occasions where people’s comments have had an impact.
“There’s only one time I’ve taken it on board and never worn an outfit again,” she said. “One and a half.”
Naga went on: “The first time, was I wore this dress on Breakfast and it had kind of like a geometric print and two people said it was causing them migraines, so I said, ‘Absolutely fine, I won’t wear that again’.”
The TV star shared that on another occasion viewers reckoned her dramatic dress was actually having an impact on their sleep. She still wears it out, but not in the studio so much.
“There was another one where I bought this brilliant dress,” she explained. “I still have it, this was about ten to 12 years ago and it was black and had all these eyes on it.
“Two people emailed in saying that it was scaring them and giving them nightmares. So that one I have worn since but I haven’t worn it as much. I tend to wear it out more than on Breakfast.”
“But yes, everyone has got a comment on whatever we wear,” added the TV star.
