Fans of Heartstopper have been quick to heap praise on Joe Locke following the release of the new Marvel’s Agatha All Along trailer.
The Isle of Man-born actor, who shot to fame playing Charlie Spring in the Netflix teen LGBTQ+ series Heartstopper, is set to return to our screens in the upcoming Marvel mini-series.
Agatha All Along focuses on Kathryn Hahn’s character, Agatha Harkness, from the hit Marvel Studios’ series WandaVision, as she embarks on a perilous and enigmatic journey filled with challenges. The pilot episode is directed by showrunner Jac Schaeffer, the creative mind behind WandaVision.
Joining Hahn and Locke in the cast are Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, Paul Adelstein and Miles Gutierrez-Riley. Okwui Okpokwasili, Debra Jo Rupp, Patti LuPone and Aubrey Plaza complete the line-up.
The series will be directed by Jac Schaeffer, Rachel Goldberg and Gandja Montiero. A new trailer for the series was released by Disney over the weekend – which you can watch above, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Heartstopper fans were particularly impressed by Locke’s American accent.
They took to X, previously known as Twitter, to laud Locke’s performance. One fan gushed: “His American accent is so GOOD oh my lordddd YES JOE”, while another agreed: “Joe’s American accent is brilliant”.
A third was blown away, admitting: “I didn’t even realize it was Joe speaking in the beginning his American accent is PHENOMENAL”, while a fourth was equally impressed: “This trailer is the first time I’ve heard Joe Locke speak with an American accent, mind blown”.
