The course of true love never did run smooth – and Married at First Sight’s Arthur Poremba knows all about that.
His love ran its course on screen for all to see. He met his wife for the first time at the end of the aisle and the cheeky chappy was dumped at the vow renewal ceremony.
Now, Arthur has spoken out about his experience on the hugely popular reality TV show. He was paired with Laura Vaughan, but the husband and wife didn’t hit it off.

Speaking to The Sun, Arthur recalled the fact their marriage ended with a text the night before the show concluded. Not only that, he had a fling with another bride on the show and is now being sought after by a Hollywood star.
Arthur said he thought his bride Laura “looked nice,” but he didn’t feel the instant sexual chemistry. “I definitely fancied her more as the weeks went on but f***ing hell that ‘Chelsea boy’ nonsense followed me throughout the show and even now after MAFS.”
The star was offended after Laura said he wasn’t her usual “Chelsea boy type.”
“It’s mad whenever I’m on the tube or bus, people yell that at me or shout “I love you” because of the wedding vow. Oh my god, Jesus Christ, it’s so embarrassing,” he continued.
Arthur enjoyed the show, but thought it was a “shame” it didn’t work out between him and Laura. “I didn’t have any heads up and was a little taken aback,” he explained.
“The night before the vow renewal she messaged me saying, ‘Whatever happens tomorrow I want you to know I’ll always try to look after both of us.’ I didn’t really make anything of it at the time but looking back, it was like, ‘Oh, I see why you messaged me that the night before now.”
He also emphasised that social media users claimed Laura was harsh on him. But he said he fought back, despite the edit making him look like a “softie.”
In terms of money, he explained how the contestants stay afloat. “They give you whatever you would have been paid at work, you have to prove what you earn so can’t say you make £10,000 a week. I think they have a maximum is probably around £1,200 to £1,300 a week. It’s a good deal. You’re not working, getting everything paid for and staying in a beautiful apartment.”
He added: “I’ve had photos of every single body part you could think of. Photo, photo, photo.”
Arthur was also linked to a fellow MAFS star, Amy Kenyon. “It was a one-night-only thing. We had been talking for a while and then after she went quiet for three months.”
He continued: “I didn’t have a clue she was going on the show. She didn’t say and we didn’t talk about MAFS, which was one of the things I liked about her.”
