Former soap stunner and glamour girl Gemma Atkinson confessed the hilarious reason why she covered up to meet her Strictly fiancé’s family for the first time.
Emmerdale and Hollyoaks star Gemma, now 39, revealed she wore a “high neck jumper” after Gorka Márquez’s dad had Googled her before meeting her. Speaking exclusively to the Daily Star at the Pride of Britain Awards about her glamour days, she shared the story.
Gemme told us: “When I started going out with you (her partner Gorka Marquez), you said to your dad ‘Oh Google her’. And he did, so he saw these (her boobs) before he saw my face.

“So when I first met him I was like high neck jumper going ‘Hi, nice to meet you’. But I loved it, his dad is lovely and his mum, they are both so nice. They message me every Saturday of them watching a video in Spain watching the Spanish version of Strictly, which Gorka’s on.”

When asked if she thinks the lads mags should come back, she added: “No, I think everything is online now really,” before sharing that she still has her portfolio of saucy snaps. “My mum has got about seven scrapbooks in the loft of all my Nuts, FHM, ZOO. I am so chuffed about it. I always say it got me two houses,” she chuckled.

Strictly pro Gorka, 34, also shared with us back in June about how his dad reacted to him first dating the soap siren. Gorka exclusively told Daily Star: “It is quite funny actually as when I told my dad who Gemma was, my dad Googled her name.
“He said ‘She’s beautiful’ and I then Googled her and the first picture that came up was one of her calendar pictures. So, I was like ‘Oh, great…’ he laughed.

The gorgeous couple have been engaged since 2021 and share two young children together, four-year-old daughter Mia and one-year-old son Thiago. They first met on Strictly Come Dancing in 2017, when she was partnered with his co-star pal Aljaž Škorjanec.
Gemma and Gorka were at the Pride of Britain Awards with Gorka, where the inspirational event celebrated its 25th anniversary.
