Emma Corrin Hospitalized After Falling Sick Following Swimming Pool Scene in 'The Crown'

    Instagram

The actress who plays Princess Diana in the upcoming season of the Netflix royal drama series recalls seeking medical treatment following a grueling filming in Spain.

    Nov 14, 2020
AceShowbiz – Actress Emma Corrin had to be hospitalised for oxygen treatment after shooting a suffocating scene for “The Crown” in a Spanish swimming pool.
The young star portrays the late Diana, Princess of Wales, in the new season of the hit Netflix show and recalls a gruelling shoot in Spain that culminated with a surprise health scare ahead of her flight back home to the United Kingdom.
“I’m asthmatic and had been ill for a while with a cough,” Emma tells Glamour U.K. of the scary incident. “I had to film a scene in a freezing cold swimming pool. It was the hardest scene to film because I was genuinely keeping myself alive treading water.”
“We were meant to be flying back that night to the U.K. and went past a hospital to get antibiotics. The doctors gave me an oxygen test and said, ‘We can’t let you go because your oxygen levels are so low’ so I was hospitalised.”

And then things got really weird for Emma as staff realised who she was and what she was doing in Spain.
“I remember the nurses figuring out what I was filming and saying, ‘Would you like us to put a cardboard box over your heard so nobody recognises you?’ ” she laughs.
Emma had been recreating the real-life 1983 tour of Australia Princess Diana took with her then-husband Prince Charles, portrayed by Josh O’Connor, during her filming stint in Spain.
Season 4 of “The Crown”, which also stars Gillian Anderson as Margaret Thatcher and Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II, debuts on Netflix on Sunday (15Nov20).

‘The Mandalorian’ Season 2, Episode 3 Recap: Bigger Fish

Season 2, Episode 3: ‘The Heiress’Last week on “The Mandalorian,” Baby Yoda scarfed down several unfertilized frog-creature eggs, sparking arguments across the internet about whether the kid’s uncontrollable impulse to have a little snack was funny or appalling. Well, this week Baby Yoda — sealed inside his own floating metallic “egg” — gets swallowed whole by a sea monster. Could this be some kind of poetic justice?I don’t want to dive too deep into the ethics or the entertainment value of the Child’s egg-eating in last week’s chapter of “The Mandalorian.” In my review, I called it “hilarious.” I stand by that — although I do understand why some people might find the joke too shocking to enjoy. But it is worth noting that the “Star Wars” universe is filled with species that eat other species. In “The Mandalorian” Season 2 premiere, a Krayt dragon consumed several Tusken Raiders — as well as Mando himself — before getting blown to smithereens and having its own meat distributed among the throng. In this week’s episode, “The Heiress,” our heroes stop at a pub on the watery moon of Trask, where the proprietor serves a chowder (dispensed by what can only be called a soup hose) containing living seafood with flailing tentacles. At one point, one of those beasts leaps out of the bowl and tries to chomp the Child. Later in the episode, the Child slurps down a different one of those squirmy things. So it goes.As we’ve been moving further into the larger story of “The Mandalorian,” it’s becoming clear that the series’s creator and head writer, Jon Favreau, means to explore the moral gray areas of “Star Wars” by setting his saga at a time when the galaxy’s order is very much in flux. It’s hard to discern sometimes who the good guys are in this era. Who’s the predator and who’s the prey?As a case-in-point, consider the new allies the Mandalorian makes this week. After the Child gets gobbled by the leviathan, Din Djarin dives into the water to save him. Just when he’s about to be killed by a gang of squid-headed Quarren — intending, like so many others, to steal his armor — he’s saved by three of his fellow Mandalorians. But there’s a complication. The posse members immediately remove their helmets after the rescue, ignoring what our Mando believes are ancient, inviolable protocols. Moreover, the squad’s leader, Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff), then explains that while she was fighting in the battles to liberate Mandalore, Din’s order, “the Watch,” was arguing against social progress and pushing to reestablish the orthodox religious practices of “the Way.” Is it possible that all this time, our Mando has been the wrong kind of Mandalorian?Hearing there might be more than one Mandalorian Way rattles Din, who rockets off with the Child … only to encounter yet another mob of angry Quarren, necessitating yet another Bo-Katan rescue. Finally, Mando agrees to join forces with her as she and her team attempt to reclaim some stolen Mandalorian weapons from an Imperial freighter, guarded by Stormtroopers.Fervent “Star Wars” fans who’ve watched every movie and TV series — and have maybe also read every novel and comic book and played every video game — should recognize some of the back story and mythology described in this episode. Bo-Katan Kryze herself is a character in the animated series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and “Star Wars Rebels.” (In both, she is voiced by Sackhoff). Her quest to acquire the powerful and symbolic weapon the Darksaber — and then to lead her people to independence — is a big part of the franchise’s lore. But it’s not necessary to know any of that to enjoy “The Heiress,” which is just as tied to the already established “Mandalorian” plot. The Darksaber, as you may recall, is currently in the hands of last season’s main villain, Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito), who is still using it for his own nefarious purposes in the parts of the galaxy where the Empire still has some sway. Gideon appears briefly in this episode via hologram, advising the Imperial freighter’s captain (played by the always terrific Titus Welliver) to do whatever he must to keep the Mandalorian raiders from seizing their weapons cache. What follows is another outstanding “Mandalorian” action sequence as Din and Bo-Katan’s team fight off the captain’s crew in narrow corridors — the “Star Wars” set designers do love their narrow corridors — and then try to keep the captain from crashing the freighter, killing them all. In addition to being gripping, the big climactic set-piece is filled with what makes this franchise fun, including lots of moments when the reliably dim Stormtroopers don’t really understand what’s going on.The breathless rush of that final battle is also representative of where our Mandalorian finds himself at this point in the story. He’s always been a very task-oriented bounty hunter, taking one job after another while trying his best to represent the ideals of his order. But while he has been hustling to keep the Child safe, he has also been working alongside whoever can help. Droids, Jedi, rival Mandalorians … Din Djarin has been learning to trust some folks he might previously have considered his enemies. Sometimes ideals have to bend to circumstance. When Mando lands on Trask’s moon at the start of the episode, his craft, the Razor Crest, is sputtering badly, with metal flaking off the hull. When he leaves at the end, the ship has been literally bound together by ropes and wires by the Mon Calamari mechanics he hired. (When Din complains about the staff’s shoddy work, the supervisor just quietly hands him an invoice to sign. That’s another fine bit of “Mandalorian” silent comedy.)As the Mandalorian and the Child rocket into hyperspace, more Razor Crest chunks go flying. That’s because the state of the ship is similar to the state of the galaxy. Everyone is just trying to keep what they have in one piece, however possible, for as long as necessary. Survival first. Moral quandaries later. This Is the Way:This episode was directed by Bryce Dallas Howard, who also directed “Sanctuary,” from Season 1. That’s the one in which Mando and Cara Dune (Gina Carano) fought Imperial Walkers on a muddy forest planet. Both of Howard’s “Mandalorian” episodes so far have balanced thrilling action sequences with quieter character moments. I’ve started to look forward to seeing her name in the credits. While Din Djarin is off adventuring on the high seas with the other Mandalorians, he leaves the Child with the Frog Lady and her husband, which seems like a recipe for disaster … or at least for more outraged tweets from the show’s more sensitive fans. Instead, Baby Yoda minds his manners as Mando had urgently requested (before adding, “You know what I’m talking about”). The Child even seems delighted when one of the now-fertilized eggs hatches into a tadpole creature. Granted, he probably wanted to eat that, too. But he didn’t! That’s progress. The Razor Crest has been fixed — sort of. But what about the Child’s little vehicle? Will we never again see him floating around so adorably in his egg? More

'Grey's Anatomy': Original Star Makes Surprising Return in Season 17 Premiere

    Twitter

In the final seconds of the highly-anticipated episode, which also sees Meredith, Bailey and the rest of the doctors dealing with COVID-19 pandemic, Meredith surprisingly reunites with one beloved character.

    Nov 13, 2020
AceShowbiz – Fans of “Grey’s Anatomy” were in for a huge surprise as the two-hour season 17 premiere arrived on Thursday, November 12. [SPOILER ALERT] In the final seconds of the highly-anticipated episode, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) reunited with one beloved character who was none other than Patrick Dempsey’s Derek Shepherd, much to fans’ delight.
The reunion happened in a dream sequence after Meredith was found unconscious in the parking lot of Grey Sloan Memorial hospital by McWidow (Richard Flood) after grueling COVID-19 shifts. In her dream, she was strolling on a sunny California-esque beach while donning a white shirt. Meredith then noticed a figure waving at her from afar and it didn’t take long for her to realize who the person was.
“Oh my god!” she said while McDreamy, her late husband and soulmate, approached her. McDreamy, who died a tragic death back in season 11, appeared while wearing a baby blue shirt. Fortunately for fans, that wouldn’t be the last time for them to see McDreamy since Dempsey is set to reprise his role as Derek in next week’s episode, which was directed by Kevin McKidd.

      See also…

Of the reunion, showrunner Krista Vernoff told Entertainment Tonight, “The most important task we had this season was to honor the reality of this global pandemic and the impact it’s having — particularly on healthcare workers. Along with that we had to come up with creative ways to allow our show to still be fun and romantic and provide some escapism. Enter Patrick Dempsey.”
She went on to say, “The beach motif — which will continue beyond the premiere — provided a way for us to live outside the pandemic even for a little while here and there. And Derek’s return provided pure joy for us, for Meredith, and for the fans.”
“Season 17 has been a Herculean effort by our cast, our crew, our writers, and our partners at Disney and ABC — and we are proud of it,” she added. “But our effort is nothing compared to the work of our Frontline healthcare workers to whom this season is dedicated. We hope our show inspires you to wear your masks to protect them and each other. As Derek Shepherd would say, ‘It’s a beautiful day to save lives.’ ”
“Grey’s Anatomy” airs Thursdays at 9 P.M. ET/PT on ABC.

Moniece Slaughter on Treatment Towards Black TV Stars: We Don't Get Treated Like Kris Jenner

    Instagram

Moniece also claims that VH1 lists ‘Love and Hip Hop’ franchise as ‘a 48-minute infomercial which allowed them to get away with not having to follow union rules or payout union pay.’

    Nov 13, 2020
AceShowbiz – Moniece Slaughter gets real when she discusses her frustration of how black reality TV stars are treated in the industry. While tackling the matter in an interview with theJasmineBRAND, the former “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood” star shared the way they are treated is far compared to how people treat Kris Jenner.
Not holding back from sharing her own truth, Moniece said, “We weren’t Kris Jenner. I was flat out I’m gonna f***ing say it. We weren’t Kris Jenner. We’re not being managed by Kris Jenners.” She went on to say, “We don’t have, you know, a collective of people who are like ‘We know your worth, we’re gonna fight for your worth, and we’re not gonna let you do anything that is below what you’re worth.’ ”
Moniece believed that it was why “we don’t get treated the same. We don’t get paid the same and we don’t have ownership.” The baby mama of Lil Fizz called herself and other black TV stars “literally a slave to machine,” adding that “it’s sold to you one way and then once you get in it you didn’t have Kris Jenner representation therefore you got stuck in a bad deal.”

Further criticizing the industry, Moniece said, “What’s sick about it is it’s the black production company that goes to the network that says, ‘She’s insubordinate, she’s hard to work with, she’s difficult, she’s blah blah blah blah.’ ”
Moniece also alluded that the production company sells feuds between black stars. “And then the more you fight to get out- you get other opportunities — it’s the black production company that goes to that network and says, ‘Don’t work with her.’ But it’s that same black production company that is sending you through the wringer,” she explained.

During the interview, Moniece also claimed that VH1 listed “Love & Hip Hop” franchise as “a 48-minute infomercial which allowed them to get away with not having to follow union rules or payout union pay.” She continued to rant, “So what that means is, you know, we can shoot more than 12 hours. They don’t have to give us per diem. They don’t have to give us, you know, a set budget for lunch. They don’t have to pay us bi-weekly, weekly. They don’t have to, you know, take out taxes.”

'KUWTK': Khloe Kardashian Is Still Hesitant While Tristan Thompson Wants More Than Co-Parenting

    Instagram

The exes are discussing the future of their relationship as the Cleveland Cavaliers player attempts to convince the Good American Jeans founder that he sincerely wants them to get back together romantically.

    Nov 13, 2020
AceShowbiz – A new episode of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” featured Khloe Kardashian and her ex and baby daddy Tristan Thompson discussing their relationship after she ended their romance over cheating scandal last year. In the new outing, which aired on Thursday, November 12, the basketball player could be seen attempting to get back together with Khloe as they were quarantining together amid COVID-19 pandemic.
A year after he was caught hooking up with Jordyn Woods, the Cleveland Cavaliers player had shown to the reality TV star that he was serious about wanting to give their failed romance another try. Khloe, however, was still hesitant although her family believed the exes started sleeping together again.
“I 100 percent have a bloc up,” she revealed, adding, “Every relationship I go into is disappointing and f***ed up. I have every reason to be guarded.” Her best friend Malika Haqq suggested her to talk it out with Tristan, saying, “Most people don’t want to get back with the person who broke your heart in front of millions of people, but the Khloe I know doesn’t give a f**k what other people think. I know he still loves you and I think deep down you still love him.”

      See also…

Khloe and Tristan eventually sat down to have the conversation about the matter. “For almost a year now, you’ve been a different person,” Khloe told Tristan, with whom she shares daughter True together. “It frustrates me because I’m like… why now? Why are you the man I dreamed of currently? Why couldn’t you be that when we were together? One of my fears is you’re going to keep acting like this until you get what you want, and when you do, you’re going to turn into the old Tristan again.”
Tristan, however, tried to convince Khloe that he wouldn’t go anywhere ever again. “I’ve grown to a point where I know what I want you in my life,” he told Khloe. “Obviously we’re always going to be in each other’s lives because we have [our daughter], but I want more than that.”
That wasn’t enough to change Khloe’s mind as she said, “You can understand the reservations that I have. Do I love you? A million percent. Am I in love with you currently? No.” The Good American Jeans founder went on to say, “Just because you have a family with someone doesn’t mean you have to stay with someone if it’s not the best fit. I don’t know what the future holds. All I know is I’m actively trying to take down little bricks. I try to be more trusting. It’s a slow process but that’s just how it has to be for me. But I do appreciate the effort and the new you.”
Later in a confessional, the mom of one acknowledged that Tristan changed for the better. “I have seen so much growth and so much change in Tristan, which I am so grateful for. But I will say, right now I’m giving the best that I can give and trying. I feel like we’re in a good place and there’s progression and some forward momentum,” she shared.

LeVar Burton Appreciates Fans' Petition for Him to Replace Alex Trebek on 'Jeopardy!'

    WENN/Nicky Nelson

A Change.org petition, which has been signed by more than 36,000 people as of now, claims that the ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’ alum has ‘inspired and shaped the minds of several generations of trivia-loving nerds.’

    Nov 13, 2020
AceShowbiz – In the wake of Alex Trebek’s passing, fans of “Jeopardy!” have been wondering who will be taking over his hosting duty on the popular game show. Among those whose names were mentioned as the recommended new host was actor and children’s TV host LeVar Burton.
While the show has yet to announce plans for a new host as the crew is still grieving, fans launched a petition to make the 63-year-old, who is known for his role as Lieutenant Commander Geordi La Forge on “Star Trek: The Next Generation”, the new host. The Change.org petition, which has been signed by more than 36,000 people as of now, claimed that Burton “inspired and shaped the minds of several generations of trivia-loving nerds.”
“This petition is to show Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. and producers Mike Richards and Harry Friedman just how much love the public has for Burton, and how much we’d all love to see him as the next host of Jeopardy!” it continued.
Burton himself has reacted to the fans’ petition. Taking to his Twitter account, Burton wrote to his followers on Thursday, November 12, “Even if nothing comes from it, I can’t tell how much how I appreciate all y’alls love and support!”

LeVar Burton reacted to fans’ petition.
Fans were more than happy to see Burton’s response to the petition. “This would be great. In my upbringing as a millennial you are as big of a figure to me as Mr. Rogers or Sesame Street. Reading Rainbow was a pillar of my childhood, to see you take the reins on Jeopardy would be a well-deserved honor,” one said. Another excited fan wrote, “Trebek was a humble man who said anyone could host Jeopardy. In truth, only one person alive could assume the holy pulpit of trivia, and that’s @levarburton.”
“You are the only one for the job. You meant so much to my generation as host of Reading Rainbow and your role on TNG. It is only fitting now that we are adults that we get to see you host Jeopardy,” another comment read. However, someone was against the idea, saying, “This is the wrong way and you should not be the next host for Jeopardy. Alex chose Ken Jennings and that’s the next host in my opinion.”
Trebek passed away on Sunday, November 8 at the age of 80. A spokesperson for the popular quiz show confirmed the sad news, ” ‘Jeopardy!’ is saddened to share that Alex Trebek passed away peacefully at home early this morning, surrounded by family and friends.”
