Amanda Holden thrills fans as black mesh cocktail dress turns see-through

Amanda Holden channelled old school Hollywood glamour for her latest outfit post, working a black mesh flamenco dress before the cameras.

Striking a pose as she leant against a wall, the 49-year-old Britain’s Got Talent star gazed off into the distance, her eyes lined with black kohl.

The gown, which was designed by Australian couturier Alex Perry, featured a glossy fringed hem with beaded cut-out detailing at the front, and a velvet bodice.

Shoulder-pads gave the designer frock some added structure, and a pair of patent YSL stilettos were a sophisticated finishing touch to the look.

By way of jewellery, Amanda added heaps of silver rings, and strung some glittering studs through her ears.

The sensational wardrobe reveal was in honour of Amanda’s debut album, which topped the charts and earned the titled of biggest-selling debut album by a female artist in 2020.

Celebrating the news with her fans, the mum-of-two thanked everyone for their support, hinting she had more exciting news to come.

Amanda wrote: “Thank you everyone for making ‘Songs From My Heart’ the biggest selling debut album by a female artist this year so far!!!

“I’ve got a little surprise that I can’t wait to share with you in a couple of weeks…”

Her followers praised her vocals in the comments below, having been successfully charmed by Amanda’s renditions of musical hits such as Don’t Cry For Me Argentina and I Dreamed A Dream.

“How stunning do you look, congratulations you deserve it,” wrote one fan, while a second added: “I’m excited!”

And a third fan, who was distracted by her wardrobe, exclaimed: “That skirt has a definite flamenco look. Holaaaaaa chica.”

Released in early October, Songs From My Heart came from a personal place for Amanda, who set out to show another side of herself to fans.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge admitted to “laying herself bare” while recording the album (Image: AmandaHolden/Instagram)

“People think they know who I am because they see me being loud and outrageous on the television or radio,” Amanda confessed.

That is a part of me but really I’m all about my family. This album is all the songs I’ve loved in my life, sung for the people who mean the most to me. It’s a very emotional album that everyone can relate to.

“I had a tape recorder as a little girl and would sing into it dreaming of this moment.”

Reflecting on the recording process, and the emotions she packed into the experience, she added: “There is a story behind every song on the album, celebrating life, love and loss – the darkest and happiest moments in my life so far. It is literally my heart laid bare.”
