Anwar Hadid has taken to social media to defend his comments claiming he will not be signing up for a coronavirus vaccine.
The brother of fellow models Gigi and Bella Hadid was placed under fire on Sunday after he replied to a fan saying he would “absolutely not” be taking a vaccine, should he be offered one.
Anwar, 21, now appears to have backtracked on his words and released a statement insisting that he is not “anti-vax” and believes people should be “careful” with vaccinations.
Dua Lipa’s boyfriend took to his Instagram Stories to clarify to his 3.8 million followers what he meant.
His statement read: “I’m not ‘anti-vax’ I think everyone has to be careful with each vaccine individually looking at positive and possible negative effects,
“I have taken vaccines before but as someone who has had a compromised immune system, I want to continue to learn about the many ways I can protect myself and others.”

“Never meant to offend anyone with my words, and I am so grateful for all the frontline workers and doctors and the powerful work they have done during this time,” he continued.
Hadid went on to say: “I’m listening and I’m all about the conversation, my response was not to make a stance it was honestly just a thought, but I can’t expect you all 2 know where my heart and head is at and that’s where I went wrong.

“I will be more aware.”
The post comes days after a fan asked him “Why are you anti-vax” during a question and answer session.
Responding to the fan, he penned: “Either I just don’t get it, or I get it and go willing heal from it and get antibodies rather than do that process unnaturally, our bodies are made by the creator to do way more than we think.”
Anwar was diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2012, not long after his mum, Yolanda and sister Bella also contracted the disease.
