Popular Strictly Come Dancing star Bill Bailey fears he could ‘lose a kneecap’ with ‘one wrong step’ on Saturday (Dec 4) night after struggling to perfect the Argentine Tango in rehearsals.
He will be performing the steamy dance to the theme tune from The Phantom Of The Opera in the quarter final of the BBC’s reality ballroom contest.
But the TV funnyman has warned it requires `perfect sync’ and could go wrong at any point.
He was also hampered in practice when his Phantom mask kept slipping.
Bill, 55, said there was a “peculiar sharp kick in this dance where the leg is flicked at an angle between the legs of your partner”.

“But for safety’s sake you have to be in perfect sync and make sure you have your legs apart because if you’re in the wrong place you might end up getting thwacked,”’ he said.
“One wrong step and you might lose a kneecap.
“I myself experienced this pain during training although it wasn’t entirely my fault. Well, that’s my excuse anyway.’”

Bill said he hoped the Phantom mask he wears on TV will be silicon-moulded for a perfect fit as in training he has worn a `flimsy one from a fancy dress shop’.
“The main problem with the mask is that it’s only held on by a thin strand of elastic,’” he said.
If it slips he will be “dancing while looking out of one eye”.
“I have to tell you this Tango is hard enough without your sense of perception being compromised,’” he said.
Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One on Saturday night at 7:25pm
