Country singer Doug Supernaw has died aged 60, it has been confirmed.
The musician passed away at his Texas home on Friday, November 13.
A statement posted on his official Facebook page read: “It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Doug Supernaw.
“He is survived by his third wife, his children, and his grandchildren.”
Supernaw had been battling stage four lung and bladder cancer.
In October it was confirmed he was living in a hospice and his cancer had tragically spread to his brain.
A statement shared on his official Facebook page at the time read: “Hello everyone,
“I know it has been a long time since any real update, and for that, I appreciate your understanding.
“I have been hoping to not have to pass this information on to you, but, Doug’s cancer has spread to the brain and spine, and he is now under hospice care.
“I will update as much as I am able to; until then, please keep Doug in your thoughts and prayers, as you have been.”
Doug enjoyed a string of hits throughout his career.

His biggest hits included the songs I Don’t Call Him Daddy and Reno.
1993 hit Reno cracked the top five and peaked at number four in the charts.
Meanwhile, I Don’t Call Him Daddy, released the same year, topped the US Hot Country Songs.
Supernaw’s Facebook page was quickly flooded with messages of condolence – many of whom shared their own personal stories about the musician.
One fan wrote: “RIP. “I’ll never forget the first time I met him at Fan Fair in Nashville, back in 1997.
“I was putting ketchup on my hotdog at a stand on the fairgrounds midway, and I don’t normally look at people next to me, but I look at the guy next to me putting mustard on his hot dog, and it was Doug.”
They added: “Got to talk with him for a couple minutes. He was gracious enough to sign my hat and take a pic with me. What a class act, and a truly great person. Country music lost a great one today. RIP Fadin’ Renegade.”
