Elton John ‘s husband David Furnish was left horrified after Janet Street-Porter told him she was using an empty yoghurt pot as a toilet during a charity camping trip.
Despite her grim revelation, the duo became close during the multiple-day trek.
Recalling the incident on Tuesday’s Loose Women after David appeared via video link to talk about World Aids Day, Janet, 73, said: “You had cashmere tracksuit bottoms on and I didn’t.
“I remember shocking you by saying I was peeing in an empty yoghurt carton as it was too cold to go outside the tent.
“That was when I really got to know you.”
Laughing, David, 58, said: “You were so much fun.

“We would sit up and play scrabble.
“She kept us all laughing by keeping us entertained with old stories about her ex-husbands and past marriages.”
Revealing how he and Elton plan on having a quiet Christmas this year, David said: “We have a one gift rule as you are right, we don’t need anything, we are blessed in life.
“The thing I am looking forward to the most is spending it with our sons.

“They both still believe in Father Christmas. They have done their lists for Santa and we posted those last week.
“We are going to have a quiet lockdown family Christmas which is just getting away from work and spending time watching old movies and having too much to eat.”
Explaining how Elton’s boys Elijah, 7, and Zachary, 9, aren’t fazed by their dad being a music icon, David continued: “When they see him up on stage they are proud of him but when he comes home he leaves Elton on the stage.
“It is just like daddy is working, he doesn’t talk about it in any glamorous away.
“They seem to be rounded about it. I hope it lasts.”
Loose Women airs on weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
