Will Mellor has revealed the final words his dad Bill said to him before he lost his battle with cancer in April.
The 44-year-old actor spoke exclusively to Daily Star Online about the last conversation he had with his father before he passed away earlier this year.
Sadly, due to the coronavirus pandemic Will never got a chance to hug his dad before he died.
“I still can’t look at his photos now. Grief is one of those things – if I think about it too much I end up in a cloud,” he said.
“I had to sit in the garden and look at him from the back step. I couldn’t get in range and I just wanted to get hold of him and hug him.

“He was diagnosed with lung cancer and it had gone secondary to his brain so if he caught anything it would kill him.”
Will continued: “He said to me, ‘If I got hold of you I wouldn’t be able to let you go’, and he broke down crying.
“Two weeks after my birthday he died. I didn’t get a chance to hug him.”

Following his dad’s death, Will shared an emotional video on social media and described his father as his “hero”.
In the video, Will is seen pacing in his back garden as he explains to fans that he wasn’t sure if he should upload the video amid the lockdown.
He told his fans: “I’ve been going over and over in my head, whether I should even do this video.
“It seems right. My dad passed away three days ago. There’s a lot of people out there, I haven’t got their number [so] I can’t let them know.
“They’ve probably met my dad, I’ve been everywhere with him, we went everywhere together. That’s how close we were.
“It’s just the hardest time. It’s horrendous. What do you do when you lose your hero?”
