Piers Morgan didn’t hold back as he responded to a social media user who had accused Kate Garraway of faking her husband Derek’s ongoing battle with coronavirus.
The Good Morning Britain news anchor recently revealed that her husband had said his first word since he was placed in a medically induced coma.
Derek, 53, has been in hospital since he contracted the killer virus on March 31 – making him the UK’s longest surviving coronavirus patient.
Piers who has been vocal about curbing the virus was tweeted by somebody who believed Kate had been fabricating her story just hours after she appeared on GMB.

The former newspaper branded the Twitter user a “disgusting piece of trash” in his rant.
Tweeting to his 7.6 million followers, he replied to the post with: “You disgusting piece of trash.
“If you had even an ounce of Kate’s decency, courage & dignity then I would bother to engage you further. But you don’t, so go f*ck yourself.”
His foul-mouthed rant came after a user said: “Just watched her being allowed to drivel on for 10 mins about her Volvo!!!
“Seriously you are scraping the barrel here. I just do not believe a word that woman is saying about her husband. I have followed this story and it is not adding up.”

Piers was left in a state of rage when Kate shared the news which had devastated her two children.
He exclaimed: “Let me get this straight. Some little scumbag or scumbags have come to your house and stolen your car when you’re going through what you’re going through.
“It is absolutely disgusting. If you know someone who has this car…It makes me puke that someone has done this.”
The heartbreaking news came after she revealed Derek had mouthed the word “pain” after spending 214 days in the hospital.
Since his admission, he has gone on to shed eight stone after the virus wreaked havoc on his lungs, heart, kidneys, liver and pancreas – leaving him with type one diabetes.
