Sir Mo Farah fears I'm A Celebrity injury could threaten Olympic dream

Olympic track athlete Sir Mo Farah reckons his biggest fear on I’m A Celebrity is getting injured.

The gold medallist does not want to scupper his chances at The Games in Tokyo in 2021 and so plans to do his best to steer clear of mishaps.

Mo said: “The main thing is staying injury-free and staying focused. My left flank is insured more than my right but that’s all that matters.

“My trainer Gary worries about everything in terms of doing challenges and stuff like that but that’s what makes it exciting.

“So I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how much stars I’m going to win or do stuff. Obviously, I’m just excited to be part of it.”

Asked if being on the ITV show would interfere with his Olympic training, he explained: “This is a good time to do it, for me.

“Tokyo is definitely on the cards but normally, at this time of the year, I’m not even training.”

Fans are hoping that if he does well in any bushtucker trials that he might do his infamous ‘‘Mobot’’ move as a victory dance.

But he said: “If I do well or if I win a challenge, I don’t know. I think it just depends, how excited we are, how hungry we are.”

Mo admits he is not keen about going into his new home – Gwrych Castle in Wales – this weekend as it is meant to haunted.

He added: “If I’m by myself in there, then of course I’m going to be scared.”

Sir Mo previously revealed his trainer wasn’t happy he was joining the show, as he promised to keep up camp morale by running workout sessions.

The medal-winner told ITV fans: “I love to exercise.

“And when I don’t train I go a bit mad! I am missing training whilst I am in the camp and my coach isn’t very happy!”

I’m A Celebrity debuts on Sunday night at 9pm on ITV.
