Slowthai wows US with Mura Masa in riotous appearance on Jimmy Fallon

Slowthai stunned US television audiences last night with a frantic live performance with Mura Masa on the Jimmy Fallon Show.

The Northampton rapper, whose real name is Tyron Frampton, joined forces with the multi-instrumentalist for their single Deal Wiv It.

Not one to be held back, slowthai was unstoppable as he ran back and forth with the live band playing behind him.

It wasn’t long until he took off his knitted striped jumper before jumping onto Fallon’s desk, pulling the presenter in close as he rapped.

He then decided to put his feet up on the sofa for an impromptu rest before launching himself back into the raucous performance.

Slowthai later uploaded his performance on Twitter from his @slowthai account, with the caption: “america, i introduce to you… slowthai”.

Fans were quick to take to Twitter to praise the performance.

One wrote: “From a council estate in Northampton to the Jimmy Fallon show. Well done.”

Another added: “It’s mad to think that slowthai has gone from the Garibaldi pub in Northampton to appearing on Jimmy Fallon.”

A third said: “Just superb. Northampton owning prime time TV chat shows right now with Billy Lockett on James Corden and slowthai ripping up Fallon!.”

It’s been a major 12 months for the artist, who dropped debut album Nothing Great About Britain in 2019 to widespread critical acclaim.

Deal With It, his latest collaboration with London-based producer Mura Masa, aka Alex Crossan, features on his new album R.Y.C.

And 2020 looks set to be an even bigger year for 25-year-old Frampton, as he appears on Gorillaz’s new track Momentary Bliss with two-piece punk stars Slaves.

Last year, slowthai caused controversy by holding aloft a fake decapitated head of Prime Minister Boris Johnson on stage at the Mercury Prize 2019 in September.
