Susanna Reid has opened up about the Streatham terror attack, which took place “on her doorstep”.
The Good Morning Britain host, who recalled the terrifying ordeal on Monday’s episode, revealed she made a fraught dash to the scene moments after Sudesh Amman’s knife frenzy.
Amman, 20, was shot dead by armed police on Streatham High Road at 2pm on Sunday shortly after he attacked three people.
Speaking out about the incident, the 49-year old explained “people were shocked, stunned and frightened” and she quickly made her way to the scene after she found out what happened on social media.

“So this happened, I have to say, right on my doorstep,” she began.
“I saw the police helicopter up in the air and then we realised something was happening went onto social media and of course then discovered this was happening just a couple of minutes away from where I live.
She went on: “This is the Odeon cinema, that’s where we go to watch films and it happened literally just diagonally opposite the Odeon cinema.

“This is the Lidl supermarket. People were gathered absolutely shocked to see… four heavily armed police officers in the wake of what happened.

Sudesh Amman, who was released from prison for terror offences just days ago, was wearing a hoax explosive device during the attack.
He was shot dead on the high-street outside a branch of Boots moments after he stabbed a female cyclist outside a pub and man outside a Cash Converters store.
On Sunday, the Met Police said three people were injured in the attack, with one person initially reported to be fighting for life.
The man, in his forties, is no longer in a life-threatening condition. A woman, in her 50s, who was also stabbed has been released from hospital.
Good Morning Britain continues weekdays at 6am.
