AceShowbiz – Paramount Pictures is reportedly looking to reboot the hit “Transformers” franchise with two new scripts currently in development.
According to Variety, James Vanderbilt, writer of “Murder Mystery“, and “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword” ‘s Joby Harold have been tapped to pen the new flicks, which are expected to build out multiple storylines within the franchise.
No directors have been attached to either script at this time, and it is believed that both projects will feature brand new casts.
It is expected the new instalments will follow a similar format to 2018’s “Bumblebee“, starring Hailee Steinfeld, John Cena, and Dylan O’Brien, which served as an origin story for the title character, one of the Autobots.
The franchise, inspired by the toys and subsequent cartoon of the same name, launched in 2007 with director Michael Bay‘s “Transformers”, which starred Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox, and prompted several sequels.
No release date has been announced for the new movies.
