TV presenter Ben Shephard was forced to wipe away his tears during today’s emotional episode of Good Morning Britain.
Ben, 45, and co-star Charlotte Hawkins, who are stepping in for Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid this week, spoke to carer Lisa Cave and her daughter Ruby this morning.
The interviewed the pair after a video of the mum dressed in full PPE hugging her little girl for the first time went viral.
Lisa appeared on the ITV breakfast show via a video link on Tuesday separate from her daughter Ruby, who is being locked after by her dad Paul.
The mother and daughter’s reunion after weeks apart went viral after Lisa was filmed dressed in PPE and hugged Ruby for the first time in almost two months.
Lisa had chosen to isolate away from her daughter, who is vulnerable because of her asthma, due to her job as a carer.

In the sweet moment, Ruby was seen running towards her mum, who was dressed head to toe in PPE, while their favourite song, Calum Scott’s You Are The Reason, playing in the background.
Speaking to hosts Ben and Charlotte, 45 today, Lisa opened up about being able to have her daughter in her arms again.
Mum Lisa said: “It was really, really hard, it wasn’t the easiest situation in the world.
“People rely on me that can’t look after themselves and ruby understands that herself.”

Asked about what it was like to be reunited with her mum, Ruby said: “It was amazing. It couldn’t believe it…. she looked really funny. She looked like a snowman.”
Speaking about why the song played was so important to her, Lisa said: “It’s about everything I would do for her, to hold her again in my arms.”
The mum and daughter were then surprised by Britian’s Got Talent star Calum’s sudden appearance via video link and he went on to sing their song to them live on the show.
As the pair became emotional so did Ben, who admitted that he had tears in his eyes.

Afterwards, Ben said to Charlotte: “Wasn’t that a special moment?”
“Even you had a tear in your eye,” Charlotte responded.
Ben added: “I did, I did!”
Hosts Ben and Charlotte hosted the show on Tuesday instead of regular presenter Piers Morgan and his co-host Susanna Reid – as the pair and the show’s expert Dr Hilary Jones take a week break from the show.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV
