Britain's Got Talent’s Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon to get 'huge pay rises'

Britain’s Got Talent stars Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden are reportedly getting huge pay rises after it was revealed they earn less than the other judges.

Holden, 49, is believed to make around £700,000 for appearing on the variety show while former Mis-Teeq singer Alesha, 42, is believed to pocket £450,000, according to The Sun.

Alesha, 42, was allegedly upset after she learned she earned less than half than David Walliams, who is said to earn a £1.5million salary for each season.

Simon Cowell, who is taking a break from the show while he recovers from a broken back, is said to bank an eye-watering £2.5 million per season.

It also alleged Simon, who devised the format for the show, was shocked when he heard about the gap in his fellow judges’ wages.

It is claimed the salaries of the two women will be subject to an internal review so they can get pay that is equal to other judges.

A source told the publication: “Alesha was rightly upset when she read the pay discrepancies in black and white.

“The story also ruffled feathers behind the scenes. Simon realised this apparent sexism wasn’t a good look. He’s demanded something be done, and the matter is being reviewed.

“Although Simon isn’t responsible for pay deals, he obviously has great sway and he has asked that the matter be investigated internally so that this sort of situation doesn’t arise again.”

Talent contracts for the show are negotiated by ITV, the production company Thames, and the artists’ agents.

Amanda alluded to pay issues on Good Morning Britain last week, telling Piers Morgan that if the show wants her back next year they will have to pay her as much as Simon.

Piers had asked Amanda: “Now you’ve become head judge, is there going to be an unseemly battle if he tries to get it back?”

Amanda replied: “Well I am going to ask for parity of pay, that’s only fair, as a female and as the head, I feel I should at least be on the same wage as him.

“And then I can donate it and save some theatres!”

ITV, Amanda and Alesha have been contacted by Daily Star Online for comment.

Last week, Amanda made headlines when she left little to the imagination by donning a figure-hugging pair of satin pyjamas.

Putting on the pair of emerald green silk pyjamas to relax in her glamorous home, the BGT star sent fans wild as she uploaded the snap to her social media.
