Cheryl 'unimpressed with Liam' as he jokes about 'embarrassing' X Factor meeting

Cheryl is said to be far from impressed with her baby daddy Liam Payne after he joked about how they met when he was just 14 years old.

Chezza and Liam first laid eyes on each other when he auditioned for The X Factor when he was just a teenager.

During a recent interview with Esquire magazine, Liam, 26, was asked to watch his 2008 audition once more.

The Midnight singer added: “Let’s address the elephant in the room… obviously, the future mother of my son is sat in that chair.”

According to Heat Magazine, Cheryl was “not impressed” by his comment, despite it being in jest.

The publication claimed she “hates being reminded of their awkward history,” as Liam was significantly younger than her.

The unnamed insider added: “It’s really embarrassing when it’s put in that context and it makes her cringe.”

Liam and Cheryl were together for two years before calling it quits.

Despite splitting in the summer of 2018, they have remained close for the sake of their son Bear Grey Payne.

Speaking to Daily Star Online earlier this month, Liam revealed how he’s been having cute FaceTime sessions with Bear and Cheryl after they isolated away from each other.

Revealing how the youngster loves her music, Liam said: “Honestly, when Cheryl comes on the TV he just becomes bemused.

“He looks at the TV and starts dancing crazy.

“Like when Love Made Me Do It came out and she performed it on the X Factor he kept playing it over and over again.”

However, it isn’t just Cheryl’s music that he loves.

The tot has been asking for Liam’s own tracks – though hopefully, Chezza has kept the likes of his single Bedroom Floor – a track about romping with an ex – away from Bear’s iPad.

“Cute things happen, he knows it’s Daddy’s music so he goes ‘put Daddy’s music on’, which is quite cute,” Liam explained.

“The other day I was reading a children’s book online which is for everyone stuck at home with kids and bored.

“I sent it to them first as I thought he has the right to see it before everyone else and apparently he was saying it over and over again.”
