Chris Evans 'thinks' he and family had coronavirus, but he didn't self-isolate

Radio veteran Chris Evans has told listers that he fears he contracted coronavirus last month but failed to self-isolate as he didn’t come down with any officially listed symptom of Covid-19.

Chris, 54, made the comment during his Virgin Radio Breakfast Show on Tuesday this week.

The former Top Gear host said: “I think I’ve had it [coronavirus].

“I’m not saying I’m qualified to say this though.”

Referring to his family Noah, 10, Eli, 8, and 18-month-old twins Walt and Boo wife Natasha Shishmania, 40, Chris said: “So many of us had this really weird cold two or three weeks ago and if four out of five most prominent people on the telly talking about coronavirus, if they can get it – they’re only mild symptoms, a bit of a sniffle and dry cough…’

Explaining why he didn’t go into lockdown, Chris continued: “I didn’t get the fever or the dry cough, that’s why I didn’t self-isolate.

“Noah had the fever and he self-isolated before we all had to for 14 days but by that time, Tash had this cough and almost everybody you saw on telly reporting on the coronavirus looked red-faced and runny-eyed – I think lots of us have had it!”

In a bid to continue broadcasting his show while self isolating, Chris has transformed a boat at the bottom of his garden into a make shift studio.

Taking to Twitter, Chris shared a string of snaps from the make-shift but kitted out new set up.

He could be seen at a mixing deck talking to a microphone.

Chris captioned the shot: “Working from boat.”

Another added: “You guys make me feel so much better. Thank you so much.”

“It’s like the good old days of pirate radio…good luck everyone,” a third continued.
