Love Island hunk Chris Hughes was dropped from Sport Relief’s The Heat Is On Challenge after his infamous National Television Awards bust-up, insiders have claimed.
The ITV star, who is dating Little Mix babe Jesy Nelson, was involved in an altercation with a paparazzi in January after the 2020 National Television Awards.
In shocking footage taken outside his hotel, Chris could be seen physically lashing out at the paparazzi after he was allegedly branded a “c***” by a photographer.
Chris could be heard shouting: “I’m a nice guy from the Cotswolds. I’m not a c***”.

Now an insider has claimed to The Sun that the clash caused Comic Relief’s sister charity Sport Relief to rethink Chris’ involvement in their upcoming TheHeat Is On Challenge.
An insider claimed: “The fact this incident occurred so close to the challenge meant there was always the risk it could be a distraction.
“Chris’s fight overshadowed his girlfriend Jesy Nelson’s NTA win for her BBC Three documentary Odd One Out.”

A Comic Relief spokesman refused to confirm if the NTA bust-up was the reason Chris is no longer taking part.
The spokesman said: “There were plans for Chris Hughes to be involved, but he is no longer taking part.”
Meanwhile, a spokesman for Chris claimed to The Sun that Chris’ drop out was down to “filming schedules” — but declined to clarify what he was filming.

Chris’ spokesman said: “Chris is gutted it didn’t work out.
“It was a mutual decision and he has been invited to discuss future projects with Comic Relief.”
Despite Chris’ drop out, Nick Grimshaw, Louise Minchin, Frankie Bridge, Rob Rinder, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Samantha Womack and Karim Zeroual are all taking part in the Sport’s Relief challenge.
