Coronation Street fans have been disgusted over the last few months as evil Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) has bullied, abused and controlled his wife, Yasmeen (Shelley King).
Last week, things came to a head on Corrieas Yasmeen lashed out at Geoff with a broken wine bottle in self-defence after he wielded a kitchen knife at his wife.
On Friday’s episode of the ITV soap, fans were horrified as Yasmeen was charged with attempted murder.
But will her granddaughter Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) be able to reveal the truth?
Viewers will remember how Alya visited the police with friend Toyah Battersby (Georgie Taylor) to seek information about Geoff’s possible history of violence.

Police questioned Geoff about the on Friday’s episode, with the officer in charge looking sceptical as Geoff said he had been abused by three different women who all had alcohol issues.

Many also think Geoff’s hidden camera may eventually be found – which will reveal he provoked Yasmeen into the attack.

Corrie viewers certainly think Alya will have a part to play in unmasking Geoff’s evil ways, judging by the online reaction.
One wrote on Twitter: “Go on Alya! Let them all know the truth about grotesque Geoff!”
While another added: “Oh Tessa’s another ex of Geoff’s who had a drink problem… Uh huh. If Imran or Alya have any sense they’ll track down Jocelyn and Tessa who I’m sure will have a completely different story from Geoff’s to tell and with any luck they’ll have proof!”
