Coronavirus: Louise Redknapp cancels Heavy Love tour amid outbreak fears

Coronavirus fears have forced Louise Redknapp to cancel her Heavy Love tour, following government advice.

The 44-year-old was due to perform at venues in England and Scotland in the coming weeks, belting out tracks from her brand-new album.

Though she performed throughout the weekend, the mum-of-two made the decision to cancel the remaining gigs earlier today, for the health and safety of those in attendance.

Breaking the news over Instagram, Louise shared a statement with her fans by way of explanation.

She said: “Hi everyone, following the latest government advice, I have taken the decision to cancel the remainder of the shows on the Heavy Love tour.

“As soon as I have more details on some rescheduled dates I promise you will be the first to know.

“For any ticket refunds please contact your point of purchaser. In the meantime please look after yourselves, and stay safe! Love Lou x”

In the comments below, Louise’s fans expressed both disappointment and understanding, making it clear they agreed with her decision.

One remarked: “Glad that you did the right thing. I’m sad I won’t be able to attend the concert anymore, but safety first! Hopefully will be able to attend the rescheduled date!”

The decision comes as several other performers have axed upcoming gigs and concerts, from Madonna to Justin Bieber.

Earlier today, it was announced that Celebrity Juice would temporarily cancel filming after host Keith Lemon fell ill.

On top of that, dramatic productions have ground to a halt, with shows like Peaky Blinders and Line of Duty pressing pause on filming.
