Danny Dyer's funniest quotes as he turns 43 – 'Nutting', food and Donald Trump

Danny Dyer kicked off his career in smaller indie movies such as The Football Factory and The Business.

Now the star is one of the main characters in BBC One’s most popular soap EastEnders where he plays Albert Square’s Mick Carter who is married to Linda Carter, and is the former landlord of the Queen Vic.

Today he is celebrating his 43rd birthday and his daughter Love Island winner Dani Dyer took to her official Instagram account to wish her old man a happy birthday with a sweet message and some throwback snaps.

But what are the funnyman’s best quotes of all time? He’s known for coming out with some cracking one liners, so here are his very best…

Danny Dyer, like many Twitter users, uses his account to share whatever is on his mind at the time with his 1.2million followers.

On September 22, 2012 at 2.45pm the star clearly had some thoughts to share about healthy eating.

He tweeted: “Healthy eating and running just ain’t me. I can’t wait ’til later to order me a bit of crispy duck.”

Fans loved it at the time, with one responding: “I totally agree with you! But with curry and a beer.”

Parenting problems

Danny and Joanna Mas have three children together, including eldest Dani Dyer

Danny shares three children with his wife Joanne Mas, and they had their first child, Dani Dyer, when he was just 18.

The pair then went on to have Arty Dyer and Sunnie Jo Dyer.

Speaking on parenting, the jokester once tweeted: “Is there a university or something that can teach you how to avoid your three-year-old from nutting, clipping and jumping on your b*****k every five minutes?!”

Kid issue No2

Danny has aways been open with his and Joanne’s struggles with parenting.

The star even admitted he wasn’t “too pleased” with his eldest daughter Dani going on ITV2’s Love Island but he soon changed his mind.

Taking to his Twitter once again he penned how he was feeling about being a dad in his typical jokey fashion.

He said: “Bringing up a toddler is like borrowing a monkey for a couple of years. They just s*** all over the gaff and proper take the p*** out of you.”

Back to eating…

One of Danny’s most iconic quotes is a very random one about having thumbs (Image: Getty Images)

On August 16, 2015, at 2.30pm Danny shared a very interesting – and humorous – thought he had with his Twitter followers.

Likely eating a sandwich at the time, he wrote: “If we didn’t have thumbs we could never enjoy eating a sandwich.”

One fan tweeted back: “And turning door knobs would be very difficult.”

Another said: “In my eyes, you have one of the world’s greatest minds! Love you.”

Becoming a posh boy

Danny, despite playing rougher characters, just adores a jasmine tea

Despite starting out in smaller films and playing the rough and ready hard man, Danny does like the finer things in life now he’s “older”.

One again speaking to his fans, he tweeted: “I’ve got a bit more sophisticated in my old age.

“I like a bit of Jasmine tea.”

We quite agree Danny, but nothing beats a proper cuppa.

Donald Trump attack

And now and again the star even gets a little political as he took an hilarious swipe at the United States of America’s current President, Donald Trump.

In 2015, Danny retweeted one of Trump’s tweets and wrote his own thoughts above it.

Trump tweeted on December 10, 2015: “The politicians of the UK should watch Katie Hopkins of Daily Mail on Fox News. Many people in the UK agree with me!”

Danny wrote back: “Is it me or is this geezer completely off his strange looking nut?”
