Dr Alex George makes heartbreaking promise to brother Llŷr a day after funeral

Love Island Dr Alex George’s pain could be felt in his words of his latest Instagram post following the funeral of his brother.

The TV star who laid to rest Llŷr yesterday, shared an emotional tribute to his younger sibling, vowing to follow through with his dreams, in his memory.

Taking to Instagram, he shared a fond memory, that showed Alex lovingly place his arm around the shoulder of Llŷr.

The 29-year-old beamed a smile at the camera as he placed one hand in the pocket of his jeans while his brother, who aspired to follow in his footsteps got cosy with his older brother.

His tearjerking post and pledge to Llŷr arrives just a day after his brother’s funeral.

It read: “Yesterday I said goodbye to my little brother Llŷr. It was the hardest day of my life. Except it wasn’t goodbye. Llŷr, your dream was to become a doctor, you will live that dream.

“Every patient I see, we will do it together, you and I.”

Continuing, he added: “Your favourite passion is cars, every time I am out driving, I know you will be there laughing and smiling with me.

“I love you so much Llŷr, you are always with me, my boy.”

Towards the end of last month, the young doctor revealed the devastating news that he had lost his “beautiful little brother to mental health”.

The former ITV star couldn’t comprehend the tragic news as he delivered a touching update to share his family’s heartache.

Taking to his official platform, he penned: “I can’t believe I am actually writing this post. I have lost my beautiful little brother to mental health.

“I love you so much Llŷr. The kindest and most caring soul.

“I was so proud of you starting medical school next month, you would have been the most incredible doctor. We are hurting so bad. No words can explain.

“As a family we are devastated. We love you and miss you so much. Please rest in peace. Our boy.”
