Eamonn Holmes revealed a teenage fight with his brother resulted in a brush with death after he punched a glass door.
The 60-year-old, who presents This Morning alongside his wife Ruth Langsford, said he could see the “white bone” emerging from his fist after the spat.
Back in 70s Northern Ireland, where Eamonn grew up, he launched into the fight with his brother Leonard after “extreme provocation”.
Speaking to Best magazine Eamonn admitted he was rushed to hospital by his father after his injuries from the spat left him fearing for his life.
He recalled: “I was born in the very same hospital.

“In that moment in time, as blood gushed out of my hand and wrist, I thought I was going to die there as well.”
Getting stitches in his arm, Eamonn thankfully survived the incident, managing to make it through the procedure without passing out.
Opening up about the fight, Eamonn confessed he was provoked into taking a swing at his brother Leonard, only for the youngster to smash through a wall of glass.

He said: “After extreme provocation, I would like to point out – I took a swing at his head with a left hook.
“The problem arose when he decided to put a glass door between me and his face.

“Leonard lived to fight another day. But me and the glass door? We became the casualties.
“I will never forget looking down at my wrist and seeing white bone, through a lot of red flesh.
“There was blood spurting everywhere from my wrist and hand, so wrapped in a towel, Dad, whilst telling Leonard he ‘would deal with him later’, took me straight to Casualty.”
Despite the teen bust-ups, Eamonn is still incredibly close with his four brothers, having described the lads as his “best friends” in the past.
