During Tuesday night’s episode of EastEnders, a desperate Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) resorted to slipping drugs in Jean Slater’s (Gillian Wright) food.
Recently, he has noticed Jean’s behaviour and mental health deteriorating as she struggles to cope with her family splintering off – what with Stacey (Lacey Turner) still being away after almost killing Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden).
Jean referred to Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) as Stacey in a recent episode, which got Kush’s ears pricked up and the cogs whirring in his mind.
And in the latest instalment of the BBC soap, Kush quizzed Jean’s pal Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) about her well-being.

He learned that Jean would really go off the deep end if things didn’t get under control, so decided to take things into his own hands.
Viewers watched as he slipped Jean’s medication into some soup and then served it to her, tears forming in his eyes as he struggled with what he was doing.
EastEnders fans felt seriously bad for Kush, rushing to Twitter to share their thoughts.

One tweeted: “That’s a lot on Kush’s shoulders.”
Another wrote: “Kush is holding the Slater/Moon family down. They don’t deserve him.”
A third said: “Kush wants what’s best for Jean so drugging her he feels is his only option, you can see how he feels about doing it. Kush seems to be the only person worried about Jean at the moment.”
Someone else commented: “Kush is breaking my heart.”
While a fifth added: “Kush is such a sweetheart. I can’t imaging taking on the Slaters as your own.”
Of course, as this is Soap Land, there could be some serious consequences in store.
Could Jean react badly to the medication?
Or could the family kick Kush out if they discover he’s been drugging Jean, even if it was to help her?
EastEnders continues Mondays and Tuesdays on BBC One
