Emmerdale fans have finally got the outcome they were hoping for in the ongoing DI Malone saga – or at least, that’s what it seems.
Spoilers last week revealed that Malone (Mark Womack) was set to try and force Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) to overdose, to get her out of the picture.
And while they were promised they would see his lifeless body on the floor when someone came to save Dawn, no more details were revealed.
During Monday’s episode, viewers watched as Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton) entered the room and whacked him over the head, sending him crashing to the floor out cold.

Viewers loved the heroic move, rushing to Twitter to applaud the vicar, who has been having an affair with Malone.
One said: “Yes Harriet, literally in the nick of time. Malone’s clearly not as untouchable as he thought.”
Another wrote: “A nice socially distanced whack on the head! Nice one Harriet.”
A third tweeted: “Go on Harriet! I was watching this willing for her to come to the rescue.”

Someone else said: “Gripping episode of Emmerdale tonight. And what an awesome blow by Harriet to save the day!”
And another added: “Wonderful move from Harriet at the end! Good timing and I think that was the best thing she’s ever done.”
Fans have been dying for Malone to meet his match since he started terrorising Harriet and her loved ones months ago.
It now seems he may be finally set to leave the soap, but could it be in a body bag?
And if Malone does die, does that mean a prison exit for Harriet is on the cards too?
Actor Mark Womack recently admitted he was hoping for some repercussions for Malone – could this be the final repercussion?
Emmerdale currently airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7pm on ITV
