Emmerdale star Chris Chittell suffers major hair fail as he cuts own barnet

Emmerdale star Chris Chittell left his fans aghast as he revealed his lockdown haircut disaster.

The 72-year-old actor, who is best known for his role as Eric Pollard on the ITV soap, posted some shocking pictures of his haircut fail after he attempted to trim his locks.

Chris hinted that he was going to cut his barnet by posting a snap of electric hair clippers onto his Facebook page.

He left fans concerned as he captioned the photograph “Ooops” before sharing the results of his DIY trim.

Chris then unveiled his haircut mishap, posting a close-up picture of the finished result.

He captioned the second post: “Double oooops!!” and his fan went into meltdown as the snaps showed a large line of his hair had been shaved off.

The soap star added: “Double cos it’s on t’other side as well stupidly put the wrong attachment and had not used the mirror!! Duh!!!”

Chris’ Emmerdale co-star James Hooton, who plays the role of Sam Dingle, commented: “You’ve lost your sh*t Chitters.”

A cheeky fan added: “Try Miracle Gro.”

Emmerdale have began filming for the first time since the show stopped due to the coronavirus lockdown.

TV boss John Whiston recently admitted that cast members have caused trouble for bosses and script writers due to their lockdown transformations.

John told Lorraine Kelly on Good Morning Britain recently: “You can also see my biggest problem right there with Aaron’s haircut.

“Most of the cast for some reason decided to shave their heads, and all the female cast decided to dye their hair puce.

“It was a problem with everyone coming back to work. How did his hair get like that?

“We’ve had to put in loads of lines in on how he got his hair like it.”
