Ghostbusters star Rick Moranis was punched in the head in an unprovoked attack in New York City on Thursday morning.
The 67-year-old had been walking on Central Park West, just steps away from his apartment building, when, at around 7:30am on Thursday, a stranger suddenly approached and punched him, knocking him to the ground.
Sources confirmed to the New York post that the actor, who also starred in Honey I Shrunk The Kids, was the victim.
According to the publication, surveillance footage from the incident shows the attacker wearing a black “I [heart] NY” sweatshirt.
Police said that Rick went to a local hospital for evaluation after he was suffering pain in his head, back and right hip.

He then reported the attack to officers at the 20th Precinct.
The suspect is reportedly still at large after he ran away on foot.
Rick’s neighbour Jonathan Kurtin, 75, said: “I feel bad for him. He is a nice fellow.”
He said the attack was “unfortunate” and is now looking over his own shoulder when he is out and about.

Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds tweeted: “Should have known not to subject Rick to the year 2020. Glad to hear he’s okay.”
The duo had just starred opposite each other in a funny Mint Mobile advert which came out in September.
Rick shot to fame in the 1980s, starring in the likes of Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters II, Little Shop of Horrors and Strange Brew.

However he avoided the spotlight and took a break from Hollywood when his costume designer wife Ann Belsky died of breast cancer in 1991.
Instead of pursuing his acting career, Rick stepped back to focus on raising their children.
He told the Hollywood Reporter in 2015: “I took a break, which turned into a longer break.
“But I’m interested in anything that I would find interesting. I still get the occasional query about a film or television role.”
Recently, in 2018, he appeared in an episode of TV series The Goldbergs, voicing the character of Dark Helmet.
