GMB viewers 'speechless' as Bill Turnbull and Susanna Reid reunite after 6 years apart

Good Morning Britain viewers have been left “delighted” this morning after they turned on their TVs this morning to discover Bill Turnbull has stepped in for Piers Morgan to host the ITV breakfast show.

Bill and Susanna Reid kicked off the show by sharing a hug after being reunited after six years.

The pair last presented together when they fronted BBC Breakfast before Susanna left in 2014 for a mega bucks deal to launch GMB.

Straight away Bill made a playful dig at Piers, who he is filling in for while he is on holiday, by telling the panel: “I can’t abide people talking over their co-stars.”

Bill continued: “I can’t believe this is really happening, it’s so exciting.

“I feel like I’m coming home.”

Susanna filled the audience in on their history of working together on BBC Breakfast and couldn’t stop beaming as they presented the show together.

Fans were also “over the moon” to see Bill, who has incurable cancer, back on their screens and rushed to Twitter to share their thoughts.

Another gushed: “Great to see Bill Turnbull in the house. Could we just swap him for Piers Morgan? Please?”

A fourth said: “Switched on Good Morning Britain looking for some weather, and there’s Bill Turnbull with Susanna! What a lovely surprise!”

Two years ago Bill announced that he had been diagnosed with incurable cancer and has previously said he “doesn’t know how long I have”.

Tragically Bill says the cancer has spread to his bones and has had nine rounds of chemotherapy.

He’s currently having injections of a tumour-busting radioactive substance, Radium 223.

Good Morning Britain continues tomorrow at 6am on ITV.
