GMB's Ranvir Singh 'emotional wreck' after watching Strictly Come Dancing debut

Good Morning Britain star Ranvir Singh has revealed she was an “emotional wreck” after watching back her debut Strictly Come Dancing performance over the weekend.

The 43-year-old television presenter took on the tough Paso Doble dance with professional dance partner Giovanni Pernice on Saturday night.

It was the first live show and Ranvir impressed judges and came joint third place with an impressing 21 points out of a possible 30.

Reacting to her Strictly routine, Ranvir told her GMB co-hosts Adil Ray and Charlotte Hawkins during Monday’s edition of the ITV breakfast show: “I had my ankles in ice and peas yesterday. It was painful physically.

“I watched the show back, because when you’re there you don’t get to see everything. I was an emotional wreck, I cried all the way through it. I just wept all the way through.

“It’s sort of quite terrifying and today in particular is because I had more time to learn that first routine, even though I was on GMB three times last week.”

Ranvir went on to tease her second performance which is coming up this weekend.

Host Adil Ray told Ranvir she looked “hot” and the clearly flattered star took the compliment

She explained: “It is totally different in every way. All the techniques you’ve just learnt go out the window on Monday and you have to learn a new one.

“Friday comes around so quickly so it’s kind of daunting to be honest.”

Ranvir was blown away by the positive feedback she received for the routine and admitted: “It’s just such a surprise really because I’ve got no dance experience, I’ve got nothing to compare it to.

“You’ve got nothing else in your armour. It’s not the best dances you remember but I remember watching Ed Balls and thinking, go for it.”

Host Adil told Ranvir she looked “hot” and the clearly flattered star loved the compliment.

“Adil, I’ll take that word,” she replied.

Former Strictly contestant and fellow GMB star Kate Garraway was cheering on her friend from the comfort of her own home – and shared her reaction to Ranivr’s red-hot performance on her Instagram account.

The mother of two posted a snap of her colleague from her TV, writing in the caption: “OMG – she was amazing !!! @bbcstrictly @ranvirtv.”

Kate, 53, knows the challenges of Strictly all too well, having competed on the show back in 2007, where she and Anton du Beke finished in eighth place out of 14 couples.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV at 6am
