Andi Peters was left red-faced on today’s Good Morning Britain when a dramatic tumble was captured by the camera crew.
The 49-year-old reporter joined Adil Ray and Ranvir Singh in the studio, appearing on the show via video call as he plugged the latest competition.
Standing on a giant cream boat, which had been docked at the harbour, he urged viewers to pick up the phone and enter the competition.
However, things turned slippery when he ushered the captain to turn on the engine, as he walked to the other side of the boat to take a seat.
Slipping on the wet surface of the vessel, Andi fell head-first, tripping up over his feet and nearly landing flat on his face.
Back in the studio, Adil and Ranvir were unable to contain themselves, as they erupted into uncontrollable giggles over the embarrassing slip.
Trying to reassure him, Ranvir quipped: “You haven quite found your sea legs.”
Before adding: “Can I just say what an honour it is to be on the show with such a professional.”
Luckily, Andi managed to laugh-off the fall, as he threw his head back and chuckled over the unexpected tumble.
Putting the incident behind them, the conversation then turned to Andi’s upcoming hosting gig, taking over from Lorraine Kelly for the rest of the summer.
The ITV star confirmed he would be leading the morning breakfast show from August 10, with Christine Lampard taking the reigns until then.
Playfully, Ranvir joked about poking fun at him behind-the-scenes, saying: “I’ll just tell you all the humiliating insults I would have normally said on air.”
Meanwhile, Adil joked: “Its all right – I’ll be around ill make up for it!”
Good Morning Britain airs on weekdays at 6am on ITV
