Harry Potter legend Daniel Radcliffe celebrated his birthday yesterday with fans flocking to social media to wish him a happy birthday.

However, some fans were left less than impressed when a parody account of Professor Snape – the famous defence against the dark arts professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry – got Daniel’s age wrong.

The account for Snape – whose full name was Severus Snape – boasts 1.2 million followers on Twitter.

On July 23, it shared an array of snaps of Radcliffe, including his very first picture as Harry Potter in 1999, a 2009 shot and a more recent image of the actor.

“Happy 30th Birthday, Daniel Radcliffe,” but many fans were quick to point out that Daniel had actually turned 31.

The post which has since gone viral was inundated with replies, with one Harry Potter fan saying: “Snape, was that on purpose? He is 31.”

Daniel Radcliffe was catapulted to international fame in 1999 after being cast as the lead in JK Rowling’s Harry Potter series.

He went on to play the role of the famous wizard in seven films which saw him take the title of one of the highest-paid actors in the world.

Radcliffe’s net worth is estimated to be around £94 million according to the official Sunday Times Richlist of 2020.

The actor recently hit out against JK Rowling’s comments about the transgender community.

He said despite JK Rowling being “unquestionably responsible for the course my life has taken… as a human being, I feel compelled to say something at this moment.”

He added: “Transgender women are women.

“Any statement to the contrary erases the identity and dignity of transgender people and goes against all advice given by professional health care associations who have far more expertise on this subject matter than either Jo or I.”
