Rugby star James Haskell says snowflakes have ruined the country – but they won’t silence him.
The former England ace is sick of people being terrified about offending others – and has vowed to speak his mind.
He said: “If people think I’m a d*** then that’s fine. It is not going to affect my life.”
James, 35, told the Daily Star Sunday: “We are in a pickle at the moment because we’re trying to be all things to all men.
“Unfortunately some people get left behind, some people are going to get hurt, some people are going to get offended. But we have to remember that you can’t please everyone.
“Because of social media there is no open dialogue any more. There aren’t any differences of opinion. There is no context to anything. It’s people fighting fire with fire. And everybody is offended by everything now. It has got us into a bad situation.”
A seemingly innocent tweet about beef landed Haskell in hot water recently.
He said: “I put something up about some wagyu beef the other day and someone commented, ‘How can you eat meat? Think of all the animals that have been raped’.

“I thought, ‘Hold on a minute… you’ve gone from people mistreating animals to raping them’. Then other people chimed in. It’s insanity.”
Since his stint on I’m A Celebrity last year James has started carving out a career in showbiz. But he refuses to bow to the snowflake mentality.
He said: “I don’t pretend to be whiter than white. I swear and I’m rude sometimes. Plenty of people hate me.
“I am the antithesis of what most people like. And I don’t care. I am never going to present children’s TV. I’m never going to be like Ant and Dec. So I may as well stick to what I am and what I know and have fun with it. I never intentionally go out to offend anyone.”

James has been able to speak his mind since retiring from rugby last year.
In his new autobiography What A Flanker he lets rip with plenty of no-holds barred humour.
He said: “In the book I just wanted to tell the truth. I wanted to tell it exactly how it is.”
- What A Flanker, published by Harper- NonFiction, is out now at £20.
