Jennifer Lawrence and Adele's friendship explored as actress turns 30

Jennifer Lawrence and Adele became firm friends since their first meeting at the 2013 Academy Awards.

The Rolling in the Deep singer won an award for track Skyfall from the soundtrack to the James Bond movie of the same name at the glitzy bash, while the actress took home a gong for her supporting role in Silver Linings Playbook.

Jennifer wrote about her friend in Time’s 2016 100 Most Influential People issue.

During her open and honest article, the Hollywood A-Lister gushed over the songwriter’s back catalogue, admitting the album 21 “changed her life”.

“I remember sneaking backstage while she performed ‘Skyfall,’ trying to squeeze a ball gown past a pile of ropes and cables just to get a little closer. See her from another angle as if to peek behind the Great Oz’s curtain,” she wrote.

She continued: “We all see her success. Her undeniable talent and beauty.

“But what you don’t see is what a wonderful mother she is. What a wonderful partner and friend she is. That she makes her son’s Halloween costumes. Adele is a gift, an international treasure, but she’s also sweet, funny, intelligent and beautiful. B***h.”

Though they tend to keep their friendship low-key, the pals were first spotted dining at the Waverly Inn in New York City in November 2015.

The American Hustle star supported her friend that same month when she watched the musician perform her first concert in four years in a special, one-night-only performance at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

“I’m gonna tear up just talking about it,” Lawrence told Z100 of the performance.

“Adele is the most universally accepted as the best… I’ve never seen anything like it… She’s unbelievable.”

A year later, Jennifer attended Adele’s concert in Los Angeles with fellow BFF Emma Stone and Jennifer’s The Hunger Games co-star Woody Harrelson.

In 2018, the two joined a whole host of celebs at Ellen DeGeneres’ 60th birthday bash, and months later, they joined Cameron Diaz at the Women’s March in LA.

Most recently, they were spotted at a drag show in a gay bar in New York City, and judging by the photos – the pair had a riot of a time.

During the night Adele was called onto the stage by the bar’s host, drag queen Brita Filter.

“Hi my name’s Adele,” she said to an excitable crowd.

And she screamed into the mic about her friend Jennifer: “She’s f***ing engaged!”

When asked if she’s “ready to mingle and have a great time with the gays tonight”, Adele replied: “F***ing obviously.”
