Justin Bieber has denied allegations he sexually assaulted a woman six years ago, announcing plans to work with “Twitter and authorities to take legal action”.
A Twitter user, who went by the name Danielle, accused the 26-year-old singer of assaulting her in a Four Seasons hotel room in Austin, Texas on March 9, 2014.
The tweet, which was dated June 20 of this year, has since been deleted, along with the Twitter account from which the accusation was made.
After Bieber performed a set in Austin, Danielle alleged that he invited her and her friends to the Four Seasons hotel in Austin, where he assaulted her in a separate room.
Danielle claimed she was 21-years-old at the time, while Bieber was 20.

No further allegations have been made aside from the since-deleted Twitter post.
Denying the allegations, Bieber took to social media to insist “there is no truth to this story”.
Alison Kaye, the general manager of Scooter Braun’s SB Projects, who represents Bieber, immediately denied the allegations, branding the story as “factually impossible”.

Kaye claimed Bieber stayed at Airbnb on the night in question, only to stay at a Westin hotel the following night in Austin, rather than the Four Seasons.
Later, Bieber shared a series of photos, emails and receipts to show he had stayed at an Airbnb on March 9, adding that his then-girlfriend Selena Gomez accompanied him at the concert.
He said: “In the past 24 hours a new Twitter appeared that told a story of myself involved with sexual abuse on March 9, 2014 in Austin Texas at the Four seasons hotel. I want to be clear.

“There is no truth to this story. In fact as I will soon show I was never present at that location.
“Rumours are rumours but sexual abuse is something I don’t take lightly.
“I wanted to speak out right away but out of respect to so many victims who deal with these issues daily I wanted to make sure I gathered the facts before I made any statement.”
Bieber added: “Every claim of sexual abuse should be taken very seriously and this is why my response was needed. However this story is factually impossible and that is why I will be working with twitter and authorities to take legal action.”
