Rapper and Yeezy billionaire Kanye West has caused controversy following his first presidential rally after he ranted about abortions and denounced Harriet Tubman’s role in abolishing slavery.
Following the event, the 43-year-old rapper, who is married to Kim Kardashian West, went on a Twitter binge, which saw him put out a number of since-deleted worrying tweets after the rally went viral. This led him to being heavily criticised for airing private information about his wife.
Kanye spoke of how he “nearly killed” his first child, daughter North, as he admitted he thought about an abortion when Kim was pregnant with North, who is now seven.
Now sources [need to put where the sources have come from] have claimed that Kim and her mother Kris Jenner are “concerned” that the rapper, who has publicly spoken about his bipolar disorder, is in a mania state.
Kanye tweeted – and then deleted – a tweet saying “my wife is trying to lock me up with a doctor,” shortly after the claims surfaced.
Following his most recent tweet, where he announced he will be “focusing on music,” Daily Star Online has taken a look back at his toughest battles against adversity.
Horror crash nearly killed him

One of Kanye’s earliest battles against adversity was back in 2002 when he was involved in a near-fatal car crash.
The star, who has come a long way from growing up broke in Chicago to becoming a billionaire this year, has said previously that 2002 was the pivotal year of his life.
It was a good time for Kanye. He was very up-and-coming living in New York and big names like Damon Dash (Roc-A-Fella co-founder) were lining up to sign him.
But Kanye nearly lost it all on October 23, 2002.
Telling the story previously, Kanye described how he was driving back to his hotel after a late-night session at the recording studio in California.

He admits he fell asleep at the wheel and crashed his rented vehicle head-on into another car.
It left the other driver with leg fractures, while Kanye suffered a shattered jaw and nasal fractures.
The Stronger rapper also claimed he was racially profiled on the crash site, as police allegedly ran three or four alcohol tests on him before taking him to the hospital.
“I was sitting in the car after the accident, and they kept asking me questions,” West told MTV at the time. “I was just telling them ‘I want to go to the hospital, I’m in so much pain right now.'”
The star says the aftermath of the accident as the “worst pain” he’s experienced in his forty-plus years.
Mum’s haunting passing

Kanye tragically lost his beloved mother Donda West in 2007 on November 10, the inquest ruled her cause of death to be a heart attack.
The star has said he has never come to terms with her death due but says he is attempting to forgive those involved with her death.
After finding fame and gaining enough success, the star said he paid for his mother to undergo some surgery that she had wanted.
But the sweet gesture ended in heartbreak after Donda died the day after she had procedures carried out by a surgeon called Jan Adams, who was wrongly accused of being responsible for Donda’s death at the time.

For years, Kanye publicly spoke openly about his heartbreak and featured his mum’s devastating death in a few of his songs.
In a tweet posted on April 28, 2018, he shared a photo of the plastic surgeon.
In the screenshot of a text exchange with someone called Wes, West wrote: “This is my album cover.
“This is plastic surgeon Jan Adams. The person who performed my moms final surgery. Do you have any title ideas? I want to forgive and stop hating.”
His breakdown in front of the entire world

Heartbreakingly, in 2016, Kanye broke down in front of the world as he reportedly struggled to deal with the guilt of his mother’s death.
Despite it, of course, not being his fault, Kanye has previously said he blames himself as he believes she would still be alive if he hadn’t moved to LA.
He said in 2015: “If I had never moved to LA she’d be alive. I don’t want to go far into it because it will bring me to tears.”
On November 22 – twelve days after the anniversary of his mother’s death – Kanye was hospitalised and sent for evaluation, he has since confirmed.

The star was taken away in an ambulance for his “own health and safety” and cancelled the remaining of his Saint Pablo tour.
Dr Jan Adams, the surgeon who was wrongly accused of Donda’s death, spoke out at the time to send Kanye a very supportive message.
The Dr told Daily Mail: “If nine years later Kanye can’t deal with it and wants to blame himself, then someone needs to stand up and say to him, ‘Come on, this is not your fault, dude.’
“We need to turn the page. We can feel sad and we can miss her, but it doesn’t happen until you confront the truth.”
Debt troubles

In 2015 Kanye told BET that he was $16 million (£12.5m) in debt because of his fashion brand Yeezy.
A year later, in 2016, he tweeted to his 30million followers that the money he owed had now ballooned to $53m (£41.7m).
Kanye got so desperate he even tweeted a plea to Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook’s founder and owner) to invest $1 billion into his “ideas”, but was ignored by the 36-year-old billionaire.
However, his business ventures paid off in the end and this year it was proven that Yeezy is Kanye’s largest asset by a mile – making him a billionaire.
His personal accountant, David Choi, provided an unaudited balance sheet that pegs the rapper’s net worth at $3.15 billion and lists more than $200 million of other assets.
They include four houses in California — two in Hidden Hills, one in Thousand Oaks and another in Calabasas – as well as properties in Wyoming and his native Chicago, Choi said.
Baby Avery’s tragic death
(Image: Instagram)
Kanye faced heartbreak in March 2017 when his cousin’s baby Avery Anderson died aged just one-years-old.
TMZ reported at the time that understandably Kanye and Avery’s father (Kanye’s cousin) Ricky Anderson had been left “heartbroken” after the baby died tragically in his sleep.
The devastating loss came shortly after they celebrated Avery’s first birthday, and according to reports, didn’t suffer from any previous signs of illness or distress prior to sudden death.
Paying tribute to his son, Ricky wrote online: “Today was the worst day of my life! I lost my lil man and gained an angel!
“Rest in Paradise!!! I love you man.”
It is believed that Kanye and Ricky are close cousins, as he works at the rapper’s label GOOD Music in Los Angeles, USA.
Bipolar disorder

Kanye was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2018 and immediately started educating the world through his music and his interviews on what it’s really like to live with varying moods.
Bipolar disorder is a disorder in which your mood can become extremely high or low, with episodes lasting for days or weeks on end.
It affects 1 in 100 people and tends to begin later in adolescence with symptoms usually starting between the ages of 15 and 19 in young people.
As well as Kanye, other celebrities like Demi Lovato have spoken publicly about bipolar disorder.
Charity Young Minds says that even if you’re affected by bipolar disorder, with the right treatment you can get on with life and continue doing the things.
In May 2019, Kanye appeared on David Letterman’s Netflix show, “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction”.

During the interview, David asked the star: “What is the mechanism that is malfunctioning or is taking a break in your brain, do you know?”
“I wouldn’t be able to explain that as much just because, you know, I’m not a doctor,” Kanye replied.
“I can just tell you what I’m feeling at the time, and I feel a heightened connection with the universe when I’m ramping up. It is a health issue.
“This – it’s like a sprained brain, like having a sprained ankle. And if someone has a sprained ankle, you’re not going to push on him more.
“With us, once our brain gets to a point of spraining, people do everything to make it worse.”
Kanye said at the time that he was under a doctor’s care, that he uses alternative treatment methods, but he thinks medication may work with others with bipolar disorder.
