Kanye West's presidential bid at risk as he misses deadline after abortion rant

Kanye West ’s presidential campaign hangs in the balance after the rapper reportedly failed to meet yet another deadline to get his name on the South Carolina ballot.

The South Carolina Board of Elections confirmed the rapper will not be on the state’s ballot as a presidential candidate in November 2020.

According to ABC News, West’s time failed to file a petition with the required 10,000 signatures in order to be placed on the ballot.

The musician is running as a candidate for his self-styled “Birthday Party”.

Last month, the All of the Lights hitmaker announced on Twitter he was running in the 2020 election – but has faced a number of setbacks so far.

Last week, he urged his online followers to sign his ballot, writing: “Hi guys please sign up to put me on the ballot in South Carolina at any of these locations. You can also sign up at the website.”

Proving his serious about his White House dreams, he spoke at his own rally in South Carolina on Sunday.

During the event, Kanye touched upon a number of topics, ranting about his political decisions, including abortion, and raged against historical figure Harriet Tubman

In the lengthy monologue, Kanye talked about abortion, and said that he would implement financial incentives to help struggling mothers.

He declared: “Everybody that has a baby gets a million dollars.”

The musician, who wore a protective vest and attended the rally with “2020” shaved into the back of his head, recalled how he and Kim Kardashian considered aborting their first child, North, who is now 7.

“I almost killed my daughter… even if my wife [Kim Kardashian West] were to divorce me after this speech, she brought North into the world, even when I didn’t want to.”

Since news of his presidential announcement surfaced on Twitter, fans have questioned whether it’s his last-minute bid is serious or actually a publicity stunt.
