Kate Garraway turns 53 today, however the Good Morning Britain star isn’t likely to be celebrating very much today as husband Derek Draper continues to battle coronavirus in hospital.
Derek, 52, is currently fighting Covid-19 in intensive care – with Kate unable to see her husband.
The only contact the presenter will have with Derek will be by phone.
Kate’s GMB co-stars Ben Shephard and Ranvir Singh revealed Kate phones Derek in the hospital last week.
Ben said on Friday: “It’s a dreadful time and I think she’s at home with two children and trying to keep it going.

“It’s a total unknown. But as she said, as long as he’s here there’s absolute hope.
“He’s getting extraordinary care, she gets the chance to phone in the evenings and talk to him.”
Despite this, Ravir said Derek was unresponsive, adding: “He’s not responding yet, I don’t think.”
In her latest heartbreaking update on Derek, Kate reassured fans that Derek is “still with us”.

Sharing a video of her joining her family in clapping for carers last week, she wrote: “So much to be grateful for tonight. Derek is still with us but what a battle it is.
“So grateful too for our amazing #NHS doing so much for Derek everyday – wonderful to see all the support for them & our key workers every Thursday. We can’t thank them enough can we?
“So brave. Sending love to everyone during this ghastly time, particularly all those struggling for whatever reason- none of this is easy. Thank you so much for your messages – they mean so much to me.

“Love and so much thanks from me and the whole family. X #staypositive #hope #standtogether #nhs.”
Giving an update on Derek’s condition this morning and wishing Kate a happy birthday, Lorraine Kelly said on GMB: “Happy Birthday to our Kate Garraway.
“As far as we know with Derek, he is stable.
“He is not getting any worse which is good. He is in the best plan.”
Looking pensive, Lorraine added: “It has been so tough for them.
“This birthday has been delayed until Derek is back, which is hopefully very very soon.”
