Kate Middleton and Prince William urged radio listeners to speak out about their mental health in a radio broadcast this morning.
In a minute-long message recorded in their Norfolk home, Duchess of Cambridge, 38, told listeners that it is “okay to ask” how a loved one is coping while the Duke of Cambridge Prince William, 37 urged people to ‘reach out’ to someone who might need support.
The royal couple were part of the Mental Health Minute message, which also featured celebrities such as pop star Dua Lipa, actor David Tennant and boxer Anthony Joshua.
The message was broadcast across all UK radio stations this morning at 10:59am.

It’s the first time all commercial, community, and all BBC stations – including national and local – have teamed up in broadcasting the same message simultaneously.
It is thought that approximately 20million people listened to the message live.
As part of the broadcast, William said: ‘We’re all connected. And sometimes just talking about how you’re feeling can make a big difference. So right now, let’s join together across the UK and reach out to someone.’

Meanwhile Kate added: “If you’re struggling, it’s important to talk about it. Or if someone you know is acting differently, it’s OK to ask how they are. Use this moment to send a message.”
A short while after the broadcast, the Kensington Palace Twitter account shared clips showing the royals and celebrities supporters recording their individual messages from home.

Kate and William recorded their messages separately from the family home at Anmer Hall, in Norfolk, where they live with their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
Kate looked chic as she wore a red collar dress from fashion brand Beulah, while William was dressed in a smart blue shirt.
The Mental Health Minute was produced by Radiocentre and Heads Together – the mental health campaign coordinated by The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
