The post was quickly flooded with angry comments from outraged fans.
One social media raged: “Why does everything have to be a conspiracy or have a hidden agenda? Accidents never ever happen eh?”
Another added: “Yet again Katie Hopkins desperately seeking attention at the expense of this poor woman, her child and family.

A third continued: “Shut up and let the poor women rest this is too soon.”
“Her story is one of the saddest I’ve read in a long time,” a fourth replied.
Meanwhile, a fifth vented: “She died saving her son.She had enough strength to get her son back on the boat but not enough strength for herself.
“She gave up her life for her son. Show some respect.”

Giving an update on the case, Ventura County Sheriff’s Office sergeant Kevin Donoghue told People: “We interviewed her son and there was nothing that we learned from her son that would have suggested that this was suicide.
“Everything that we’ve learned so far leads to this being some sort of water recreational accident.”
Sherd Bill Ayub added: “The idea perhaps being that the boat started drifting – it was unanchored – and that she mustered enough energy to get her son back onto the boat, but not enough to save herself.”
The Ventura County’s Medical Examiner said: “The cause of death is drowning, and the manner of death is accident.”
