Liam Gallagher admits Oasis used a combine harvester to spy on The Stone Roses

Liam Gallagher has confessed, he, along with his Oasis bandmates once nicked a combine harvester to try and spy on The Stone Roses while they recorded new material.

It was when the Britpop band were first making waves, recording their debut album Definitely Maybe Rockfield Studios in South Wales at the same time as the fellow Mancunian group were working on new songs, so the singer decided to take matters into his own hands.

Recalling the incident in a documentary about the recording studio, in an passage obtained by The Sun earlier this week, Liam said: “We went to have a f******g little snoop.”

“It was, “right what the f*** are they up to?” as they hadn’t been doing anything for three years.

“I’m on about a proper combine harvester – ones you’ve got to get a ladder up to and it’s miles up. Off we f*****g go, crawling down the road with the big f*****g lights on.

“It looked bonkers. We drove it in, turned the lights off and rolled out like something out of The Professionals. We could hear some f*****g baseline and drums.

However, their plan was soon foiled by The Stone Roses, who caught them, and played Oasis at their own game by pranking them with a tractor the next day.

Liam, who recently scored a number one with his MTV Unplugged album, once again teased a possible Oasis reunion when he appeared on Peter Crouch’s Save Our Summer last month.

Speaking to the ex footy ace and co-host Maya Jama, the former Oasis frontman opened up about his estranged relationship with his older sibling.

Peter said to Liam: “So what about your brother, are you ever gonna make up?’ to which Liam replied: “I’m ready to go man, love is in the air.

Maya chipped in: “Didn’t you do a tweet actually, saying about doing a performance for the NHS…

“Yeah. I know he’s not gonna do it. So I do it to make him look f*****g as bad as…. But I’ll do it,” Liam replied.

“I think it’s time now man to get off the naughty step and stop sulking. I just wanna keep making good music – singing those Oasis songs, waiting for the little fella to come in with a box of chocolates and apologise.”
