Liam Payne hasn't seen son Bear in weeks due to coronavirus UK-wide lockdown

One Direction star Liam Payne has revealed his heartbreak that he’s self-isolating away from his young son Bear Payne.

The chart-topper is believed to be self-isolating in his London pad while Bear is with mum Cheryl in her Surrey mansion.

Speaking on Instagram live, Liam, 26, said: “Bear is really good.

“He is learning a lot more about FaceTime at the moment.

“It is difficult not to see him. That has been the hardest part for me. I’m missing him.”

Hinting he is alone in the apartment, Liam added that “it’s nice to have some company” when showing fans the quirky cushions he has with a woman’s face printed on them.

In a cute revelation, Liam explained how he pocketed one of Bear’s toys – a model of superhero Batman – to keep him close to the youngster.

Holding up the toy, the Strip That Down singer said: “I have a mini-Batman which I took off my son.”

Speaking about life in lockdown, Liam continued: “We are all learning different things about each other and it is difficult and we are all overcoming such a difficult thing .

“But as a glimmer of a positive, there is a nice community feel about it.

“It is a terrible thing but there is a bit of beauty that we are missing people so much that it has brought life back to us, away from our phones.”

Cheryl and Liam announced their split in July 2018 after months of speculation.

Despite putting on a very public display of affection during the 2018 BRIT Awards, the couple were unable to shake off claims they were on the rocks.

Previously speaking on Jessie Ware’s Table Manners podcast about how he and Cheryl had to play out their relationship in the public eye, Liam said: “I think we kind of rubbed off on each other a little bit in that way.

“In a bad way, actually. All of that stuff puts so much pressure on a relationship.

“For her, if you were going out somewhere, it would take so long to get out of the door because you’re just so worried.”
