Little Mix's Perrie Edwards forced to pull out of show due to mystery illness

Little Mix star Perrie Edwards has pulled out of the band’s scheduled gig in Brazil on Sunday due to a mystery illness.

The Shout Out To My Ex hitmaker, 26, took to her Instagram page this afternoon to post an apology to the group’s fans for her absence before insisting that bandmates Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock will “absolutely smash it”.

The X Factor winners will perform at the Memorial da América Latina in São Paulo this weekend, as they prepare to start their Summer 2020 Tour later this year.

In her heartfelt post, Perrie penned to her 9.8 million followers: “Hey everyone, I’m so sorry to announce that I am unable to travel and perform in Brazil with the rest of the girls on Sunday due to being unwell.

“To all the fans that are attending the show, I’m heartbroken I can’t be there with you, but I know the girls will absolutely smash their performance and give you everything in my absence. Lots of love Perrie x.”

Perrie’s post was also shared on Little Mix’s official Twitter account, which has since been flooded with get well wishes from fans.

The South Shields songstress’ message comes after she confirmed she finally passed her driving test at the beginning on the year.

Perrie wrote: “First post of 2020. Beep beep huns. About time I ticked this one off the list. Coming soon to a road near you! Skkkrrrt.”

The Little Mix girls were the first to congratulate the blonde bombshell on her news and were quickly followed by Perrie’s boyfriend Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Little Mix are due to kick off their Summer 2020 tour on June 26 with the group set to visit cities including Canterbury, Cardiff, London, Leicester and Colchester.

Perrie and her fellow Little Mix bandmates will be back on our screens soon as they become mentors to a wave of new talent, in a bid to find a new boy, girl or mixed-sex band.

The new bands will be doing what the girls have been doing for years and perform live and collaborate with songwriters, producers and stylists.

“We want to create lots of incredible groups who really gel,” Little Mix said in a statement.

“As we have been there and done it ourselves, we know what it takes to make a group successful, and will be there to mentor them every step of the way.”
