Louise Redknapp once opened up on the exact moment “s**t hit the fan” during her marriage to footballer Jamie Redknapp.
The pair were married for 19 years and for the majority of that time they were seen as the golden couple as Louise made the decision to step out of the spotlight as a singer for the hugely successful band Eternal and focus on raising their family.
That was until the 45-year-old got her spark back years later in 2016 when she returned to screens to compete on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.
During her time on the show, Louise fell in love with it all again and decided she wanted to return to the spotlight and at the time she was still with Jamie.

Louise was partnered with professional dancer Kevin Clifton and the pair’s chemistry and stunning moves landed them a place in the final.
But Jamie became a victim to the ‘Strictly Curse’, as Louise realised she was in love with performing and being on stage, and didn’t want to give it up again.
Back in 2017 after their divorce, she revealed to Stella Magazine when “s*** hit the fan” and she knew her marriage was over.
She told the publication: “I have spent most of my life pleasing everyone else, worrying about being judged and thinking I should always do the right thing by staying at home, looking after my kids and my husband. I lost myself.”

Louise continued: “I didn’t want to continue running around after everyone else, and occasionally promoting a yoghurt or doing a little TV presenting job.
“I wanted to sing, I wanted to perform… And that is when the s*** hit the fan.”
The mother-of-two admitted that the thought of never performing again made her feel ‘physically sick’.
She initially confirmed the couple were living apart in October and filed for divorce in December 2017.

Louise has also said she grew tired of the “Stepford Wife”, as she strived to be the perfect wife and mum.
She told The Sun previously: “I wanted kids so much, I was happy to put everything on hold for them.
“Standing by and watching Jamie become this entertainment star was pretty hard. I was proud of him, but there was part of me thinking, ‘that’s my world’.
“I could see the excitement he got out of it and I knew how that felt. But it wasn’t me feeling it anymore.”
