Love Island's Amy Hart 'still needs therapy' months after Curtis Pritchard heartache

Amy Hart famously had her fair share of heartbreak in the Love Island villa, following a surprise dumping by then-beau Curtis Pritchard .

Appearing on the 2020 series of Celebs Go Dating , the 26-year-old beauty is intent on building up her self-esteem following the split.

Speaking to The Sun, the former air hostess revealed she still attends therapy sessions to deal with her battle with self-confidence.

She told the publication: “I still do therapy. Not as often as I would like because I’m so busy. I’m doing it about once a month.

“She has given my CBT tools to use and ways to help process things. I love it. I understand why Americans use them all the time.”

She added: “Therapy has really helped me understand it’s not me who is the problem. It’s not my fault I haven’t had a proper boyfriend, it’s just that I haven’t found the one.”

Curtis and Amy’s relationship ended in tears on Love Island’s 2019 installment

Amy decided to leave Love Island early, refusing to watch on in silence when ex Curtis and Maura Higgins started to spark up a romance in the villa.

Opting out of the show for the sake of her own mental wellbeing, she bid farewell to Curtis, letting him know she hoped to remain friends.

Looking back at their brief relationship, she told the publication: “In hindsight, it was just over five weeks of my life. I have come out and rationalised it all and realised it wasn’t as big a deal as it felt at the time.

“The first few weeks I came out I was still really upset then something just clicked. When you are in there you are in a bubble and everything is heightened. You become obsessed but once I snapped out of it I bounced back really quickly.”

The reality star thanked Celebs Go Dating coaches Anna Williams and Paul Carrick Brunson for their advice and support, nurturing her self-confidence to help her find “the one”.

She explained: “Anna and Paul picked up on my low self-esteem as soon as we started filming.

“I’d only been filming two days and they spotted straight away how I put myself down and have no self-esteem. I am a little nervous of delving too deeply into that during the series.”
