Nicholas Lyndhurst is believed to have been supported by his former co-star Sir David Jason, following the death of his son Archie aged 19.
Archie was found dead at the family home in west London with the cause of death reportedly being classed as “non-suspicious”.
Now Nicholas’ former Only Fools and Horses pal Sir David has reached out to the family to show his support.
The pair appeared on screen together for more than 20 years as iconic duo Del Boy and Rodney Trotter in the sitcom.
Speaking to The Sun, a source said: “Despite no longer being on screen together, David and Nick remain very close. So, as soon as David became aware of what had happened to Archie, he was in touch with Nick.”

The mole went on to say: “He’s been in regular touch ever since and – like everyone else who cares for Nick and his family – is just trying to provide whatever support he can.
“Nick’s heart is broken, and David is doing all he can to support him.”
Nicholas, 59, and wife Lucy, recently addressed the death of Archie who made a name for himself on the CBBC show, So Awkward.

The heartbroken dad said: “Lucy and I are utterly grief-stricken and respectfully request privacy.”
Lucy also took to Instagram to comment on Jack Whitehall’s post – Jack had worked with Archie for ten years and instantly became close on set.
During the lockdown period, Archie had also been delivering food to Jack’s parents.
She wrote: “We shall love him forever and a day and are the luckiest parents to have had the most wonderful unique son who has bought us nothing but joy in our lives.”
Lucy later thanked Jack for the “amazing opportunities” as well as the “kindness and friendship” he had with Archie.
