Phillip Schofield has opened up about his past feud with fellow ITV daytime presenter Piers Morgan.
The This Morning host told of how he didn’t speak to the Good Morning Britain presenter “for a long time” a number a years ago, after Piers penned an unofficial biography about him.
In his new autobiography Life’s What You Make It, Phillip recalled that Piers, 55, had requested “memorabilia” from him, and he believed the former newspaper editor was penning a series of articles about him.
The ITV star sent interesting bits and pieces to Piers but nothing appeared in the newspaper, leaving him feeling worried.
The memorabilia eventually arrived back at the office but Phillip didn’t expect what followed.

Phillip wrote: “A few weeks later, the unofficial biography he’d written about me, including all the stuff I’d sent him, appeared on the bookshelves.
“I was furious. Not so much that he had written the book, but that he had deceived me.
“We didn’t speak for a long time. There were awkward moments: once, the two us were in a lift for what felt like an endless descent.”

However, Phillip revealed he decided to call it quits on his long-running feud after Piers made several appearances on quiz show Test The Nation, which Phillip presented from 2002 until 2007.
“One day I realised how stupid this feud was,” he said. “I was angry, and he’d actually been flattering and kind in the biography (although utterly deceitful).
“It was time to make up. He was nervous when I walked over. ‘Enough.’ I said, and I shook his hand. We’ve been fine ever since.”

Piers hasn’t said much on the feud, but previously made it clear he has “no problem with” Phillip, with the outspoken TV star also supporting him when he came out earlier this year.
Back in February, Piers was prompted to talk about his relationship with Phillip after a magazine story alleged they had beef following This Morning’s win at last week’s National Television Awards.
However, Piers soon made it clear that he has “no problem” with Phillip, with co-star Susanna Reid adding that the ITV team is “all just one big happy family”.
Piers was one of those to praise Phillip for publicly coming out as gay earlier this year.
He took to Twitter to respond to his ITV colleague’s brave revelation back in February.
“Takes a lot of guts to do this, not least when you’re a very public figure & know it will all be dissected in a very public way.
“Sending my very best to @schofe & his family,” Piers wrote.
